Bungies decision to end Destiny 2 was a bad move. If all Bungie has is Marathon all I can say is that good luck, because that game will never have the same kind of success that Destiny had.
Destiny 2 is by far more richer in content and things to do. If they just had the will to focus on Destiny this game would be even better and last for who knows how long.
Anyways thanks for all we had so far, but this kind of end was just lame.
ps. Not gonna play Marathon so you just lost a long time fan.

1 ReplyThey did say that they are going to start incubating new games. As if that has ever turned out well for them. Marathon is the only game that they managed to make along side Destiny. I guess they will do what they do best, wasting money and making terrible decisions.

They ruined the game around the time they changed airborne effectiveness. Kept changing their core mechanics for noobs. Marathon is trash. Tried the beta. A straight joke

2 RepliesAgreed. I think Marathon is objectively a good game, I just don’t like it. I tried it during the open trial, just to see. Played for 1 afternoon, and was not digging it. Cheers to Destiny 2. Cheers to the forums. Cheers to anyone I’ve gamed with, and cheers to all I’ve shared conversations with.

11 Replies- Final Shape does well to conclude the saga - Makes a shitty DLC - Loses the majority of their playerbase - Makes a Star Wars theme’s DLC - F*cking dies 10/10

1 ReplySaying Goodbye is so hard I was one of the hundreds who played the beta, waiting online at midnight for this game. For 12 years, we’ve all been a part of something special, something that people who weren’t there just won’t understand. Now we’re getting to relive those memories starting June 9. The game may be ending in the real world, but it will never die in our hearts. I remember racing home just to play—jumping into new DLC, and getting through some of the hardest times in my life with this game by my side. Please, let’s stop with the complaints. Let’s come together as the Guardians we all became back in 2014—the friendships, the clans, the memories we built together. It’s hard letting go of something that was so much more than just a video game. I never thought I’d be there at the beginning and still be here at the end. This community has been one of the greatest families I’ve ever been a part of. I’ll miss you all. Thank you, Bungie, for everything and the memories. The song from Maroon 5 Memories pretty sums it up.

The only way ending D2 could’ve been a good decision would be if it meant they were planning to do D3, but that seems unlikely. Why? It makes too much sense.
Not gonna play Marathon so you just lost a long time fan.
not only you, but the hundreds of thousands people who made the destiny community what it is/was bungie thinks the players loves them so much...but in reality the community loves destiny and hate bungie with passion. so good luck to bungie for marathon, they are going to need it, because they aint getting any support from destiny players lmfao (or from any other community apparently, considering the dying state of this stupid ugly game)

JackTheRipperBungie devs are talentless - 5/21/2026 10:33:13 PM
This is what happens when you let talentless DEI hires invest your dev team simply because they're best friends with others on the team. They had so many useless devs on the team that got paid to do basically nothing or were just a detriment to the team. Time after time with devs teams who have similar teams have had their games fail time after time and these idiots either fail to see this or just willfully ignore it. -
8 RepliesDestiny 2 isn't profitable enough to justify continued support

6 RepliesEdited by Northern: 5/22/2026 2:27:39 PMCommercially, it's absolutely the correct decision. The franchise was all but done, revenue streams collapsed, playerbase decimated. Not exactly a surprise Bungo chose not to support the IP going forward. My guess is, Bungie studios is on borrowed time, the reckoning is coming.

2 RepliesEdited by TemperedOne: 5/22/2026 6:48:39 PMMarathon will move to another Sony studio. Bungie will be shut down. Incomeg layoffs were already reported on.

The bad decision wasn't ending the game. It should have ended with TFS (Heresy was the perfect end to the story while still planting seeds for the future). No, the bad decision was nerfing the players and their weapons while gutting the game for EoF and everything that introduced. We'll see much of EoF's damage 9 June fixes, but however much it is the damage is already done.

Go, tell them to fire their number crunchers and hire you instead!
