The end of the road. Thank you, and good riddance.
It was a wild ride, since my humble beginnings in the dark below. To defeating the witness after countless hours, and all the way to taking a slow stroll through the glassway just last night. After all those years the story has finally come to an end. It wasn't a perfect journey, but it was one I'm glad I got to be a part of. The many friends I've gathered slaying demons and gods will never be forgotten. The triumphs of first time, and potentially last time, raid completions will live with me for as long as I can hold a controller. The sweet feeling of depositing 20 motes, the final strike on the boss of a solo flawless, the unlucky death of getting blasted off the map by a taken phalanx.
I will still be around for as long as the servers are active, and should they shutdown in my lifetime I will be among the last on said servers. My view of Bungie has been declining since the sunsetting of the redwar, and this has set it at an all time low. Curse of osiris isn't looking too bad now (maybe) isn't it? In some ways I'm glad the game is coming to an end. They've beaten and battered the dead horse till the very end and then some, but the world building and lore have been some of my favorite aspects about the franchise, and I would love to see this story continue to be told and have loose ends finally tied. Destiny doesn't deserve this ending, but Bungie are NOT the ones who should be allowed to continue this story should it be revived at some point. It deserves to be held by someone who truly sees the potential of this game and brings out the inner beauty of it's world.
Where is gambit prime? Where are the previous campaigns that no one will ever enjoy again? where is the siva aesthetic? Where is the sole that was in the original destiny? Gone. reduced to memory and legend for no real reason. The winning formula was there the entire time. Why did you let it slip away?
I ask only one favor of you, Bungie. If for some reason you have the gall to release something new in the Destiny franchise, DO NOT do it the way you did destiny 2. please. This could've been the one, but it wasn't. It was your fault.
I appreciate each and every one of you Guardians. All of you have shown the good aspects of this world to your fellow Guardians. We've still got a few final stands to make on the battlefields. So please, join your fellow brothers and sisters and let your light shine, and your darkness flourish. Do Destiny 2 the justice it deserves and send it out in a blaze of glory with the June update. And after all of the battles have been fought, rest. And come back stronger then the last time to a new mission.
Per Audacia Ad Astra. Fight Forever, Guardians. I will see you in the wilds of Destiny, and now Arc Raiders.
