Savathun is Oryx's sister. Savathun, Xivu Arath, and Oryx were all sisters before they were tricked by the Worms into becoming the Hive. Savathun was masterful in magic and trickery, she chose cunning over power, Savathun was first to realize the problems of Sword Logic and failures of the Darkness and she was not friends with the Witness as she trapped Rhulk(Disciple of the Witness) within her throne world preventing him from leaving. Oryx chose the Darkness and gained much power and the ability to Take, creating the Taken from his newfound abilities and alignment with the Darkness. If anyone was close to the Witness it would have likely been Oryx, but I wouldn't bet on it. Crota is Oryx's son. Oryx was female at one point, but in future Hive evolution either evolved differently or something to become male, as he is the Taken King. Xivu Arath became the embodiment of War and war itself became a part of her tithe, hence how she found and wiped out the Cabal homeworld as Cabal society was only about war. Xivu Arath is probably the only true embodiment of the Sword Logic. Savathun rejected the Sword Logic and was resurrected by a ghost from the Traveler, essentially making her a Guardian. Savathun had seen the faults of the Light and the Dark, and she pretty much decided to remove herself from the game of Light vs Dark in order to fulfill whatever her next twisted goal is. Savathun is not exactly an enemy anymore, that doesn't make her a friend, more like a weird anti-hero. The Witness was searching for Traveler again, but I believe the only thing that really alerted him to where it is as at the end of the original Destiny 2 campaign when the Traveler sent out an explosion of Light energy across the Solar System after Ghaul was defeated. Eris Morn is not a Hive, nor is she Savathun. Eris Morn is a Hunter that lost her team and her eyes to Crota and the Hive, so she took vengeance and stole some Hive eyes and utilized her time with the Hive to fight and evade them, learning Hive magic on the way. Eris did become the Hive god of Vengeance and killed a resurrected Savathun to absorb her power and banish Xivu Arath. Savathun got re-resurrected but with way less power and fled, Eris Morn released the power and returned to being human. Thusly neither Eris nor Savathun are in any way connected or evil.
