With Bungie stating that D2 service is ending, I would like to start by thanking Bungie for all the years they put into these worlds. They created a looter-shooter that other studios cannot compete with. They survived countless destiny-killers and nothing scatches the itch, at least for me. Thank you. Now that ive got the niceties out of the way, lets talk shop. Destiny 1 servers are probably held together with bubble gum and paper clips at this point. I understand that as a company losing money with upper management probably at their throats about cOsTs and pRoFiTs, quality of life updates are probably low on the priority list. The amount of posts complaining about error codes and people barely able to access social spaces without jumping through hoops is out of hand As far as D1 goes, it was left in pretty good shape. Weekly bounties rewarding legacy gear like trials and iron banner weapons was a great way to allow players access to some of the best gear. Siva heroic strikes having rotating modifiers keep it fresh, especially with the skeleton key loot. Armsday from the gunsmith gets me excited for a weekly reset. Crucible on the other hand needs some help with limiting the player pool. I suggest removing some playlists and limiting players to rumble, a clash/control combo, and a weekly rotating playlist. Otherwise, it was left in great shape. Just please give the servers some TLC and call it a day. Im hoping that bungie sees how self sustained destiny 1 is and works towards making d2 the same way. There isnt much i can say with how d2 is now since i dropped the game a while back and have no interest in returning. Hopefully they make good choices with it. One thing i will say is that sunset DLC and raids cannot just remain sunset. People paid good money for this content and there is chunks of story missing from the lore. Not every activity needs to come back, like the seasonal activities, just story missions and strikes maybe. I could be asking them to draw blood from stone here but at the end of the day the community deserves a little tlc and some replayability from d2. If anyone from bungie sees this, please dust off the d1 servers and give them some love. Thanks for whatever
