Why destiny 3 won't be successful

This is just my take on why a D3 won't be successful, so take it with a grain of salt. The biggest issues are as follows. Trust, trust from the community will NEVER exist as long as D3 has the bungie logo or anyone from the bungie dev-team working on it, after all the let downs, under-delivery, and just straight up lies thats happened throughout all of D2 NOBODY except new lights will be interested in giving it a try or hearing you out bungie. Stories, destiny 2 is ending with some MASSIVE holes or serious loose ends that have NEVER been resolved. Just a few as an example; the planets that were shrouded in darkness, the threat that both Savathun and Xivu still pose, the fact that Maya STILL has the echo of command and is messing with time, or better yet the traveler itself since we opened it, all of that was introduced, dumped, and forgotten about all for a starwars themed side quest that you had no intention of finishing up. And the biggest issue of them all MONEY; anyone who's played since forsaken should know the bungie cycle by heart. Content is released and you charge $50-100, you support it for a year or 2 and then you vault it claiming it'll return...but it never does, players get frustrated then you finally bring it back after another 3-5 years but its the worst possible version ever seen. This age of triumph update is just you finally breaking the glass to grab the fire extinguisher, but the house of destiny has already been burned down 3 times over. You've finally managed to -blam!- the horse to death..that was already dead. Congratulations on finally reaching the bottom of the barrel and not finding another barrel. To those who are enjoying Marathon, enjoy it while it lasts but do pay attention so yall can notice the patterns when they finally start showing

  • Before anyone says it. No, I don't believe Marathon was the ENTIRE reason destiny 2 is in the state its in, marathon if anything is like 10% of the problem while 90% is a mixture of Bungie not dealing with both Pete and Tyson appropriately and quickly, the community being toxic and spoiled (not in the sense of asking for communication, but actively making threats and harassing the devs). The multiple layoffs didn't help either especially when the game was in shambles and splitting the already small team to work on Marathon was just the dumbest move to be done (the fact that the community has to SPECIFY which of the 3 or 4 waves of layoffs we're talking about is outrageously absurd)
