D3, what are ya'll doin?

Back before the Marathon alpha, the answer was D3. After Marathon launch, the answer is D3. In several months, when everything is again in dire straits, the answer will be D3. Cut your losses and get on with it. Give them a short Sony!

  • I will never understand why people here think that the same company that is and has been making D2 worse over and over again and is now currently ignoring it. Will all of the sudden make the best game ever designed. Would D3 just be in the same state as D2 ? if not worse as you will start from 0. The risk is far to big. If the launch of D3 is bad, then the entire franchise is over. D2 will be fully abandoned, just like D1 and D3 will be shut down shortly after. Again why do you think that the same company that is ignoring and beating their Golden goose, will all of the sudden do a full 180 and be the best parent the world has ever seen.

    • Here’s the facts: - Bungie lost over 750 million dollars. - There will be layoffs in order to compensate. - All the charity organizations that Bungie has supported over the years have either been frauds, scams, or outright cons. (If I have to explain it to you then you’re an ignorant outta the loop normie) -Bungie has bad optics at the moment - Constantly inserting real world politics into their storytelling and the Destiny universe has ruined any and all good faith Side note: Something that DMG and all the media and marketing departments, what all the top executives. Every single Dev in Bungie doesn’t understand is that WE DONT WANT TO BE PREACHED AT! WE DONT WANT YOUR POLITICS TO BE “NORMALIZED” through gaming. We play games to escape reality. We don’t play games for activists to push their political beliefs onto us. Ultimately Destiny is made for cultural communists. Made for champagne socialists. Not for regular people. That being said; Destiny has become a political platform for everyone at Bungie to push their political beliefs. They shouldn’t touch Destiny 3. Sony will be closing the Studio down. Sadly though many of these political activists like DMG will just get hired on by other companies where they’ll turn those companies into political platforms. How sad is that, the DNC didn’t want anything to do with these people so these aspiring politicians got into a gaming company and like parasites they turned it into a branch of the Democrat Party.

      • The answer after Sony showed the world that Bungie represents a 765 million impairment, and after Sony's statement that they are full throttle backing up Marathon, is a clear and sound message: Destiny, be it D2 or D3, isn't in their plans. The most probable future for the Destiny franchise is D2 being put in maintenance mode like D1. No more content, just updates to patch any problems with the game.

      • do u really think a d3 would magically improve everything bungie has learned from gaming and automatically make it a good game just because the number went up

      • You need to be successful to continue on with the Destiny franchise, which Bungie hasn't been for several years. Without being successful, Sony will never grant the support as a publisher for a project like this. Marathon isn't successful either. Not with the few thousand players on Steam. And probably the same quantity on other platforms. Besides, I didn't buy Marathon because of my personal experience with Bungie's development agenda of 10 years and wouldn't buy Destiny 3 because of that. There has to be a demand for a Destiny 3. A big one. But this (big one) was persistently destroyed by a mostly gone-now leadership who disappointed and blew out a patient and tolerant community. Maybe I would buy it if Catarina Macedo and Joe Blackburn were back and in charge. But not with these guys right now. There's always a catch. This will be the same drama as it is.

        • For the 52nd time, Destiny 3 is not the answer. It would literally be another D1 and D2. Do you not remember the painfully abysmal launches for D1 and D2? And that it took them a few DLCs to actually make the game solid?

          • I really think destiny could be shut down . Nothing and 2.5 weeks away to expansion we have been waiting for nearly 6 months . Now songie are going to turn marathon into Destiny 2 with multiple activities and pve . Just my opinion . I just can’t see songie pulling d2 out of maintenance and blow us away . Not now anyways .

            • D3 isn't the answer bungie don't have the talent or miney to do it. D2 is on its last legs now it would be an incredibly dumb move to fund D3 over safer bets with more competent studios . Plus very likely Sony will be cutting costs at bungie soon with layoffs and a revised plan that judging by the last earnings call dosent involve destiny.

              • D3 don't mean a thing if they keep the current muppets in charge cause it will just eventually lead back to where we are now. First thing that needs to be done is to cull the people in charge who are dragging the game down with their dumb ideas. Then once that is done then the idea of a D3 can be tossed around. Asking for a new thing while the people responsible for the decline of the old thing are still in charge is just asking for more of the substandard quality of the current old thing.

              • Very few people will invest their time in anything this studio produces. Not after what they did to D2 players. I would grind for hours a day sometimes for the right gear set or weapon rolls. I dont even care about the sunsetting stuff... I was engaged because I wanted the right setup for raid dps or the new pvp meta. It was fun to me. But to watch them tank their own game after I had thousands of hours in it? I'll never play the game how I used to because I have no confidence they won't do the same thing again.

                • Hahahahaha, you're a -blam!- if you think there's going to be a Destiny 3. Bungie is known for milking their IP for everything they can, they're going to go so hard on microtransactions, they're going to make fortnight look like child's play. Microtransactions = content.

                • No. These clowns can't even be bothered to give us information on an update less than three weeks away. You really think they're capable of putting out a new game so great it'll completely change everyone's opinion on Bungie?
