Winding down
My children, who are now in their 30 pluses, introduced me to computer games. I did not enjoy them. They tried getting me to use a console. Nah! So I didn’t for a period of time. Then I saw Borderlands. Could not wait to play it. Loved it. They then reintroduced me to HALO. Absolutely lusted that game. Between these two games. I was hooked.
Destiny was like air. I needed it to enjoy life. Not really, but I loved, loved Destiny. Still do. Kinda Sorta! Everyone knows the story is coming to an end. It has to. We killed all the baddies. Right?
I want to believe that the game is exciting. It’s not. It was. “I remember that first day, when Peter Dinklage as the ghost. Yelled we’ve woken the hive. It sent chills up and down my spine. Every time I went to that strike or quest or farming.
I don’t get that feeling any more.
What this means is I will be moving on eventually. I will miss the greatest game I’ve ever played and my experience is very slanted I. Your favor .
I’ve tried Marathon. I will give it a few more tries, but I’m not feeling it.

1 ReplyI often remember a car I drove 25 years ago, which I adored. But today, as much as I liked it, it's not contemporary anymore. The last few evenings I played Destiny 2 again. Practically, for 10 years. That makes it critical once one knows everything. In retrospect, I can't say Bungie did a fantastic job. With post-Final Shape, it looked even worse. Same as Marathon. Looking at Steam, they have 4,000-10,000 players in 24 hours. And even if some romanticize those numbers, Sony can't be happy with that. Bungie has abandoned Destiny 2 for the second time now. First, for their never-released incubation projects. And now, second, for Marathon. I think they shouldn't be surprised if their customers do the same. Everything has its time. And today, there are better options.
