Can't start Destiny 2 anymore.

I get errorcode (4, 5000041d) failed to install BattlEye or windows error message: "could not access the specified device, path or file, you may not have the right permissions to access the object". I have tried everything under the sun to get destint 2 working again such as giving Destiny 2 and battlEye full permission, excluding them from windows defender, turning of multiple windows defender options, redownloading destiny 2 and battlEye, switching steam folder and more. I'm on windows version 11 25H2 (OS-version 2600.8328)

  • Can't you roll back your Windows to a time you know the game worked?

    • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. We're sorry to hear that you're encountering this error when launching Destiny2, particularly with BattlEye failing to install and the associated windows permissions message. Based on what you've described, this appears to be related to a permissions or system level issue on your device. If you haven't done so already, we recommend running both Steam and Destiny 2 as administrator and ensuring that BattlEye is properly installed and not being blocked by your system or security settings. Additionally, you may want to review BattlEye Support resources for additional steps, as these can help address issues to installation and permissions.
