I know it was 2 years ago, Yes 2 years, sure doesn't feel like it.
The weapons we got were so meh and i just felt like talking about it.
Hammer head and Blast furnace was the only 2 weapons i cared about. Midnight coup and Luna is also good, just not for me.
12 fan favorite weapons is what they were supposed to bring us and they only gave us 7.
Hammer head
Blast furnace
Luna's
Midnight
Fallen guillotine
Recluse
Mountaintop.
The other 5 was just wasted slots in my opinion and also by Bungie as these were not fan favorites or strong.
Elsie's I take it that this is a D1 weapon, so strange choice.
Hung jury. The 4th iteration of it and it was also obtainable at that point.
Succession, worse version than the raid one. Also still available.
Forbearance, same as Succession, worse and still obtainable.
Edge transit. This has to have been a troll pick by Bungie as this was the worst gun in D2.
Whilst some of these weapons were indeed a strong and memorable weapon in the past, they have definitely fallen of. Recluse and Mountain top were no where near what they used to be, so Recluse now just felt like just another Void Smg and Mountaintop just got changed into a movement tech tool.
At least they were fan favorites. For the others however, man do i wish that they picked out other guns.
This is just a list that i made, It has obviously been years since i and others last used these weapons so it might not be perfect.
1) Luna's
2) Recluse
3) Mountaintop
4) Blast furnace
5) Hammer head
6) Midnight coup
7) Fallen guillotine
8) Dusk rock blues / Parcel of stardust
9) Duke mk44
10) Bygones / Go figure
11) Sins of the past / Bad omens
12) Misfit / Ether doctor.
I just swapped out the last 5 weapons to more recognizable ones and to which i believe more people would have wanted instead. Again there might be some that i missed. Also i left out some because they had already been reprised at that point. Like Mind benders and Trust.

1 ReplyEdited by ACROCANTHUS: 5/10/2026 6:54:43 PMElsie and Edge were both best in class when they came out. They earned their spots for being the reward for completing the first ever destiny campaign and for being a legendary community inside home. And they wore their shoes well. Dust rock and bygones were the only suggestions you gave that really deserved consideration. Breachlight, steel feather, innagural address, maybe even emperor's envy were more deserving at the time into the light came out.

Elsie was so strong that they blanket nerfed all 340 pulses... it's still decent, but nowhere near where it was upon release.

(warning > sorry this ended up pretty long) I ended up appreciating all the weapons but I like your additions as well. I made fun of Hung Jury but that iteration became solid for me in both PVP and PVE... ...The thing the Brave Arsenal did with Onslaught was allow farming/grinding of your roll in almost a loot cave enjoyability but with an even better activity of Onslaught. Its those unique farm loops that a looter-shooter needs... and then you go use the new toy. For PVP that is like endless variety rolls for me... and I find that very enjoyable... Onslaught in its own right was both the farm loop and the environment to test the weapon/build. Onslaught is the best activity I have seen created by Bungie since I joined this Destiny journey... d2 season of undying methinks... Its levels above the next thing enjoyable... I know Bungie did take that feedback at first and then tried to monetize it by releasing a new onslaught version (I did not have that season but have experienced the widows court one a few times)... its not bad... its not the original Onslaught and both suffer now from lack of brave arsenal, changing maps and enemies and of course matchmaking constantly... I would ask them to focus on bringing Onslaught original back or go for into the light 2.0 and brave arsenal 2.0 with legacy right there... hall of heroes.. superblack 2.0... I would pay for this.. I even think they could design similar activities like a moving train that guardians protect like an adu... stops at stations... actually gives me 2nd part of reckoning vibes (old drifter activity).. but could build of defenses etc... and bring in the hordes, environmental... and maybe cool it sometimes with the exploder... -
3 RepliesI mean, Edge Transit was very good when Into the Light came out, and so it's still. Of course it was for the meme, what else for? I'm still rocking it with my titan, love the sounds it makes.

1 ReplySo I agree with most of your sentiments. Hammerhead was a massive disappointment and severely struggled to ever really find a quality place in any meta. I've used it, but it always underperformed IMO. But Edge Transit?!? That thing was hard meta for DPS for a fat minute......
