We need Adept 2.0 to make endgame rewards worth it.

Enhanced perks is so overrated that it is unbelievable, not only that but it isn't even a worthy reward and more so since it drops from normal content as well. The buffs from enhanced perks is so minimal that you can't even tell the difference. Do you even know what they do ? Timed perks gets 0.5 - 1 second extra on the timer. Barrels and magazines gives a 2+ to either its stat or a random stat. Like Appended mag gives 2+ to reload for no real reason. Perks that triggers on hits or kills requires either 1 less kill or a little less hits to trigger. Kinetic tremor needs 1 less arrow to trigger and on a smg it is also 1 less bullet. I mean certain perks, like Headseeker and Vorpal just give 5+ to Stabilty. Nothing is gained from a weapon with enhanced perks, Seriously you will do just as good with a none enhanced gun. Adepts bonuses of 16+ to weapon stat or 6+ with a 7.8% damage increase to pve enemies, is just more attractive to me then Rampage lasting 0,5 second longer. Feel free to disagree with me, because i know you will.

  • Yeah, the enhanced perks are a joke really, and when you're crafting weapons they cost additional ascendant alloys and prisms, just not worth it, but for some reason the min-maxer in me adds them anyway. 😥

    • We need a Destiny 3 rather than adding any more layers of bloat to Destiny 2. New engine, new story and new system. I'd happily play a D1 remaster on PC though, while they made a D3.

That's why crafting and tier guns exist... And why special shiny versions of guns exist...so the guns remain even for all players and still have a special version to hunt for... There is no reason for the top 1% to get a gear advantage over everyone else... Adapts are essentially sunset.... They said as much a while back...

Enhanced versions of most perks aren't meant to be so overwhelming better than the base version specifically so they don't cause balance issues. This is why Enhanced Surrounded (and I think one other perk I can't remember) is such a weird outlier as it gets a pretty sizable boost to the damage it provides. Some of those reductions in shots needed to trigger a perk or a 1 second duration increase in a buff timer are huge and worth more than you apparently have any idea. I suspect you think these are pointless because you're not good enough to know why they're so helpful. I know you're desperate for "loot to matter" so you can get carried through content to get access to it, then lord it over the poors who don't have a clan/friends willing to do content with a weight strapped to their ankles, but you've already got the advantage against other players by having that option. Why do you get to also have overpowered versions of a gun to offset your skill level when you're solo, too? There's gotta be a reason that this late in the season you're still under the Power cap spamming Custom Strikes all day, after all.

      • There’s no fixing the loot economy at this stage.

There's a handful of perks that are noticeably improved when enhanced, e.g. subsistence doubles the refund on most weapon types, rimestealer doubles the frost armour stacks etc. It isn't a big list but there are some gems. Most of them are marginal but still improvements, which is fine, I don't think they were ever intended to be necessary. Then there are the ones that simply don't do anything like frenzy...

              • Perks with negatives I think also reduce those values. Personally I wouldn't care about getting a T6 or whatever if the stat difference isn't noticeable, but I think we already have enough stat monsters in the game (whether they need a perk like Perpetual Motion or Rangefinder is irrelevant so long as they require little to no risk or effort to keep going/ start a fight with). And the weapons that can do that are about to be increased in June. I mean my best Martlet's lowest stat is 79 range, every other stat is 88-94 after Perpetual Motion. Aim assist and sights aside, it's basically a better Redrix's Estoc (which it's nerfs have basically been made invalid at this point). Or since we're supposed to be able to craft T5 equivalents in June of raid weapons, I know to craft a Fatebringer with more range and stability than my best Rose (79 range 88 stability), the only real advantage Rose would bring to the table is the lightweight frame. And if a T5 Eyasluna keeps the same perks it's got now, all you need is ricochet rounds, range masterwork, and ballistic mod to have range and stability between 80-100. At that point, it would only further validate what I keep saying that they should just buff the stats of exotic weapons too. Not like the gimmicks are always worth it in pvp or PvE even when they don't come with a crippling defect, and what the hell is Ace for example bringing to the table that I couldn't do better with the aforementioned hand cannons? Nothing.

              • Bungie has really flattened gear progression with the tier system, so I'd rather see the tier system improved so that Adepts can feel like an extension of the tier system rather than an exception from it. Enhanced Perks feel so minimal because they are available starting at Tier 2. New players are immediately offered 300 Power gear, so even new players treat enhanced perks as the default experience. I would change the order that columns are enhanced in to make more noticeable changes across the tiers. Tier 2: Enhanced Barrel Tier 3: Enhanced Magazine Tier 4: Enhanced Origin Trait & Mods Tier 5: Enhanced Perks This way in early progression (If it still existed) players would start out with bonuses to their weapons' stats at the lower tiers before finally getting to the enhanced perks at Tier 5. And with enhanced perks being restricted to Tier 5, the bonuses could be improved to actually feel impactful. Adepts could then be viewed as an unofficial Tier 6 and give them access to a new suite of Adept mods that are more niche, similar to the current seasonal mods. Adepts could also get an additional origin trait, though hopefully nothing quite so unbalanced as Accelerated Assault.

                • Before Renegades high Tier meant higher damage with the artifact bonus. But it got nerf significantly, and even then it wasn’t night and day. Anyway on most build this days I use guns to supplement abilities and the exotic, or deal with champ that’s all. So yeah all the tiering system is pretty much a waste these days.

Actually didn't know the enhanced perks were that wimpy. Although the 0.5-1 second increase is a pretty big change, the little bumps in stats are nothing. I think there should be a buff of some kind, if only for a few of the enhanced perks.
