Cross Save Authentication troubles
Bungie please help. i have been trying to repair my account for 2 days. i have a primary account on steam and am attempting to add a secondary xbox account.
i have multiple times verified login details are correct, regardless of the fact the login will not allow me to authenticate the xbox account. i have tried using the companion app, 2 seperate devices, 3 different browsers and clearing the cache while using an incognito browser. dispite that i continue to get the error code XboxMsa Identity=0 (XErr=0x8015DC0E)(HTTP Response Code 401)
any guidance would be greatly apperceived thank you

3 RepliesEdited by BNGHelp3: 4/19/2026 5:13:56 PMHey there, so you are trying to set cross-save up between your Steam account and the currently linked XBox account, but XBox is giving an error when you try to authenticate? Log out of Bungie.net, then log in with your XBox credentials. If it logs you right into this same Bungie Account, then XBox will be automatically authenticated on the cross-save setup screen, so you only need to authenticate Steam. That's how some people have been able to work around this error. If however when you try to log in, it logs you into a different Bungie Account, or asks to link an existing Bungie Account, or create a new one, it means the credentials you are entering are not the ones for the linked account, which is also why the authentication was failing. If you try to link the current Bungie Account in that second case, this will fail due to it already having a linked XBox account.
