The message of D1 was “Play the game your way”
This game is no longer “play it your way” when we are being dictated by the champions and seasonal artifact on which gun we have to use.
Either get rid of the champions or put a 2nd mod on our weapons to allow us to select which champion mod we want to use.

4 RepliesYeah, I'd be ok giving up the mod slot to choose the champ mod. I'm also not happy with hand cannons as anti-anything. Sometimes my chosen hand cannon basically needs the entire clip to stun the champion. Meanwhile it's completely recovered. Anti-barriers being the worst offender with hand cannons. If radiant lasted longer or was easier to trigger that would be fine. I often swap weapons in-game to handle a barrier and it's annoying. I get the strategy to swap/trigger but it's often more than just that and with matchmaking I think anti-barriers are the one I find most people don't prepare for, we hope someone else does. I'd love a day with coffee to pull all the stats for the game to see what's going on and avoid anecdotal experience. My guess is the person keeping track of that was laid off 4 years ago.

“or put a 2nd mod on our weapons to allow us to select which champion mod we want to use.” Bungie, THIS ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️

1 ReplyChampions ruin pve

I would much rather have the Banes gone. They are way more annoying and some of their effects are map sized. Just spawn in a Healer and the entire map is covered. Where is he you might wonder, who knows. Can't do -blam!- until he is dead on higher tiers.

4 RepliesWish there was more Unstoppable mods other than just the Bow. Maleficence works but it's a exotic slot taken up :x

5 RepliesEdited by GradeMyGuardianTTV: 4/15/2026 12:21:07 PMCompletely hottake here, but Champions make the game. Without them, there'd still be folk riding out +4 year old weapons because they don't need something new. Champions help shape the Meta. Both with valid weapon archetypes, subclasses and Exotic weapons. I love the challenge of kitting around them. And since Lightfall? There's never been more ways to handle them with Ability Spam and weapon perks. Better yet, they gave us Opening Salvo as a Seasonal Mod. You can literally run ANYTHING and stun Unstops. So Bungie has heard you to degree. What I'd rather see is the -50 Champs in GM Alerts get their health pool toned down. It's a fat problem when the only three builds for quick disposal are Wormgod's, Hoarfrost+Horn, and Combo Blow builds. My beloved Peregrine's don't do squat anymore. Synthos feels really inconsistent. Grenade spam Warlocks can't contest them. GM Alerts are severely overtuned. But Artifacts shape the meta and the grind.

1 ReplyWishender forever. Which also penetrates Vex Hydra shields and is keen on Taken. Having said that Champions still suck even though they are no insurmountable challenge anymore. With one exception. GM weekly with -50 is a double Bungie middle finger to players just displaying their sadistic mindset aiming to take out fun and make activities artificially hard. Sometimes I think the few Bungie employees left try as hard as they can to make the last men standing giving up finally as well. Anyway.

They need to seperate anti-champion capabilities from specific guns, and elements, mods basically, it would be so much better, I would actually be able to use more weapons from my arsenal, and don't have to be locked into specific choices all year round (because they don't change this at any season)

Bungie claimed to be "Gamers making games people want to play". D2 should have a disclaimer saying that what Bungie meant was "We make games we want to play, and we make you (the public) pay for the priviledge of playing our game the way we TELL you to play. Now shut up and go buy the "StarWars" DLC for each platform connected to your account, like good little sheep." The disrespect and greed are astounding, but that's probably why Sony bought them. Like attracts like and all that.

Or change how they work so artifacts and other stuffs to deal with them are optional power boosts instead of "use this or GTFO" model they're using
-
1 ReplyThey need to go back to the weapon combo champ mods we had last season. HC only should never be a mod.

4 RepliesBro ur dumb

11 RepliesTheres the artifact, subclass verbs, abilities, exotics, if your still having trouble with champs its not a gameplay issue. Its a you issue
-
allow us to select which champion mod we want to use.
Technically we can do that with the new volatile mods but because Bungie being Bungie: 1. Those mods are RNG and these comes from legendary orders 2. Temporary 3. You can only use them on "new" weapons

6 RepliesThere is an anti-barrier mod for current weapons since the last dlc.. dictated by the green tab on the weapon. Get a kill, get anti-barrier. Also… while radiant anything is anti-barrier. But I still agree with your post.
