Rifts need to be better in PvP

Seriously you drop it down and it barely heals you. I'm not saying they should be Well of Radiance levels of healing but this hasn't changed since D2 year 1. The Class stat isn't much help because you need it to be ridiculously high to get anything good out of it. Even then it heals so friggin slow! If it could give you a few seconds of really good healing, and then the rest is regular, that would be fine too. The gains from Empowering should be higher as well. This isn't Year 1! Bump it up!

Bump it up![/quote] Out of curiosity, do we know how much of a damage increase Empowering Rift provides? I think Bungie is well aware that the gains from Empowering Rift feel too low, but they're hesitant to buff it because of the way it might stack with other damage perks in the Crucible. I still think it's worth a shot to try upping the damage anyway.

    • Agreed. Hunter and Titan class abilities are so much more useful in comparison. Warlock class abilities are completely useless in PVP

      • You shouldn't have healing rift to begin with in pvp, I want similar for hunters, or none at all for you It is very annoying when a warlock drops one on the ground, and then proceeds to shoot me comfortably, while I have nothing at all, after I had nearly killed them

          IMHO, if this is what you are looking for out of the rift, you are using the rift wrong. Ideal, place it from behind cover before engaging. Engage, and pull back to cover between shots to actively heal. You will be able to beat a faster TTK weapon from its healing between your shots. You cannot out-heal taking damage actively, but you can recover much faster to stay in fights that others cant. If you are using rift thinking that it will save you mid fight when you are down, it wont unless you are running stasis and they are close enough to get frozen. From the start of D2, rift was the strongest class ability. It is still quite good when used correctly, but it will not reward being cast in the open/in direct line of sight of an enemy.

          • I agree. Rifts are pretty pointless in PvP. They didn't give you instant health regeneration. It's tied too closely to your health stat. By the time it kicks in you're dead.

            imagine if you could toss your rift like a frisbee.. it would slice through walls... maps would crumble.. I have no issue with our rifts... the ability to cast and move was a positive game changer.. and if you need the shield you can add to class ability over 100.. but what you are getting there is maybe a shot more of life > so avoid fire more to me its just speed is the issue.. its maybe bad connections/desync/network manip but the relative speed of guardians should be the same >> I need to see an overall speed stat (calculates including the weapons you have, mods, class every. thing.)... but I'm tryin to stop requesting things and complaining.. so disillusioned with this company...
