Like where’s my new Command & Conquer or LOTR: BFME at?
If they can port Roller Coaster Tycoon to the Switch then I can have a new Supreme Commander or Halo Wars game or something. I think Total War still exists but it’s PC only, and Microsoft rereleased the first couple of Age of Empires games so that’s at least something.
I did play that Age of Mythology remake a while back but it didn’t really hit very hard, maybe I just needed to get into it more.
I have seen a couple indie things over the years, like there was this one based around bugs which seemed pretty cool, but the only big new multi-platform games in the broad strategy genre these days seem to be Civ and other city/empire builders like Tropico or Cities: Skylines, or those hyper specific facility management games like Factorio and Satisfactory, and while those fit a mood sometimes I just wanna make a big old army and go to war.
Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator is a good one actually, but again PC only (probably due to the fact you can quite easily give your machine a meltdown with the amount of troops lmao) and it’s not particularly in-depth or involved as a war game; it’s more for messing about or getting cool screenshots.

Total War is making a WH40k game, same with Dawn of War 4 being in production. I know it’s more TBT instead of RTS but Firaxis is makin that Star Wars Xcom game (lookin promising) and Menace, which is in Early Access, is a pretty neat game.

It was never a genre I was huge on, but I enjoyed one here or there. When I was younger I was obsessed with LEGO: Mars Mission. I played those stages so many times over… But yeah, now that you mention it, I haven’t seen one in a while…

Cheaters ruined RTS. Unless you live in Korea.
