I urgently need help.

I bought a PlayStation Plus subscription yesterday so that I can play dungeons and other activities in the squad. Every time I go to a dungeon, the squad option is locked with the message “PlayStation Plus required,” even though I specifically bought it for that. I have tried everything I could find online about this, but I still can’t start matchmaking.

  • Hello there, Thank you for reaching out. You’re running into PlayStation’s online subscription check, not a Destiny-specific purchase like dungeon keys. Here’s the fastest way to troubleshoot it: Confirm PS Plus is active on the correct PSN account On your PS4/PS5, go to Settings → Users and Accounts → Account → Payment and Subscriptions → Subscriptions and make sure PlayStation Plus shows as Active on the same PSN profile you use to launch Destiny 2. If you bought PS Plus on a different account than the one you’re playing Destiny 2 on, that account either needs to be the one you play on, or you need to set it up to share PS Plus (see step 2). If you use multiple accounts / family sharing On the account that owns PS Plus, set the console as primary / sharing enabled: PS5: Settings → Users and Accounts → Other → Console Sharing and Offline Play → Enable. PS4: Settings → Account Management → Activate as Your Primary PS4 → Activate. Then play Destiny 2 from the non-owner account and check the dungeon/squad option again. Restore licenses PS5: Settings → Users and Accounts → Other → Restore Licenses → Restore. PS4: Settings → Account Management → Restore Licenses. After it completes, fully restart the console and try Destiny 2 again. Sign-out / reboot sequence Close Destiny 2. Sign out of PSN on that profile. Reboot the console. Sign back into PSN, then launch Destiny 2 and check the dungeon’s squad option again. If it still says “PlayStation Plus required” At that point the console is still not seeing an active PS Plus entitlement for the account you’re using. That’s entirely on the PlayStation side (Bungie can’t change your PS Plus status), so the next step is: Contact PlayStation Support with: Proof that your PS Plus sub is active on your account. A note that Destiny 2 dungeons / squad finder still show “PlayStation Plus required” despite that.
