When I try to verify my phone number I get a error message as the following:
“An unexpected error has occurred on Bungie's servers while trying to grab Destiny information.
(1618)”
Is there a way to fix this? I tried to launch Destiny 2 but that didn’t help.

No one has been able to verify for over a month now. Everyone is locked out of online if they hadn't already verified

A few things you can try: Use the main SMS page (not the platform‑tagged one) Go to: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/sms Make sure you’re logged into the same Bungie account you use in game. Follow the official steps and retry if no code arrives Enter your mobile number (no VOIP/Google numbers or landlines). If you don’t get a code within 5 minutes, re‑enter the number and request a new code. If you get a code but see an error, wait ~10–30 seconds after receiving it before hitting Submit, or use the “I already have a code” option and enter the same code there.
