After roughly six months away from Bungie titles, I decided to return with the Marathon test launch and also check in on Destiny 2. However, upon launching Destiny 2 and attempting to log in, I was immediately met with a persistent "Tapir" error that prevents me from accessing the game.
Here is a summary of what I have observed and tested so far:
• Destiny 2 (primary account): Unable to log in — Tapir error appears consistently across multiple attempts.
• Marathon (primary account): Login works without any issues or error codes.
• Destiny 2 (secondary Steam account): Login works without any issues, despite that account having no expansions purchased and very little playtime.
To my knowledge, there were no scheduled maintenance windows during the periods I attempted to connect, which rules that out as a cause. The fact that the error is isolated to Destiny 2 on my primary account — while Marathon and my secondary account both function normally — suggests this may be an account-specific issue rather than a network or client-side problem.
I would appreciate any insight into what might be causing this and whether there are any steps I can take to resolve it.
