You do realise that Bungie is extremely lazy and will just resell us D1 + D2, nothing new, Hung Jury for the 50th time etc..........., I do hope they actually proof me wrong but it'll never happen. Just IO with new colours and some more trees, more f...king teleporting, invis champions that just appear out of the blue to "Bring the Challenge Back" BS.
Extremely salty at the mo, but hey, that's what you get when they put all their effort into "Marathon" at the cost of actual good content for D2. Don't get me wrong, I don't begrudge a company building another game but keep your existing player base satisfied.
-
I seriously doubt D3 will happen, the franchise is done.
-
Destiny 3 isn't happening, I have come to terms that the ride is over, and to just enjoy the memories Any profit made by Marathon will be spent on Marathon
-
I'd be happy with a D2 classic, back to redwar full vault wipe.

1 ReplyEdited by Sen: 2/28/2026 6:12:21 PMI want them to drop the 2 like Overwatch did, combine both games and full send it on the MMO aspect with a new engine and system with little to no fomo and removal of content so that the entire game can handle all of the content. And I mean ALL. Destiny 1 start all the way to renegades. No level skipping automatically to the newest expansion. Vanilla to Forsaken then to its seasons then the next expansion and its seasons etc. Shrek: Like THAT will ever happen The moment that they were getting rid of content instead of finding a way to keep ALL content and seasons in the game is the moment that the game was doomed. They should have done EVERYTHING in their power to keep all content relevant in their own expansions by assigning the specific activities and expansions to their own power level. The loot would be designed for that specific content and the newer expansions would require more and more build crafting and thought into how to approach difficulty. This is what FFXIV does well

4 RepliesNo way Sony would agree to D3 now as D2 really hasn't been doing well with declining sales. D2 would need to turn around and do amazingly for a few years for D3 to be considered
-
D1 and D2 both had absolutely terrible launches. D3 would be the same. D3 would be like 20% new content while the rest of it is just reskinned weapons, maps or weapons slowly being ported from D1 and D2 into D3.

It just sucks that for years they tell us “we’re listening” “we appreciate the destiny community” “thanks for supporting us” and yet we still get told to take a back seat while marathon gets the spot light. Now it’s like why should the destiny community want to support Bungie after basically being told to we don’t matter. Wait 4 months only to get reissued guns we ground into oblivion for, quality of life updates that were promised months ago, and a new mode with an exotic mission. I don’t have hope for the studio’s future. Destiny might as well be dead at this point, and marathon is doing basically edge of fate level success while free. I don’t think the paid numbers will be any higher.
-
9 RepliesI've been saying this, the fate saga is written already they wouldn't depart from it, so it would be redwar all over again bad guy beats us destroys our vault and here we are again regrinding what we lost ... theu need to do like eso or no mans sky, drop the 2 call it destiny, drop old consoles update the engine, remove the portal go back to the director and revamp. Noone in their right mind wants a destiny 3, only glazers thinking its gonna solve a problem because its new want d3.

Edited by GradeMyGuardianTTV: 3/2/2026 8:34:05 PMD3 at this stage would be 20% new content 80% D1 & D2 content reprised and resold to us. The change must happen at a fundamental level. Which is why D3 needs to be a true MMO with massive open worlds with varying zones of difficulty. You walk into Strikes, Raids and Dungeons from Patrols and exploring the open world. Very akin to how The Shattered Throne used to be accessed. That feeling and design. Open world. No more variations of directors and launch screens. Just explore and hit missions as you go.

LUCKYY 10P said that Bungie choosing to develop Marathon instead of D3 could go down as the worst decision in gaming history. Only time will tell.
-
6 RepliesNo D3 please, it would just be D2 renumbered with all the same flaws.
-
History repeated for the third time
-
And Destiny players would rejoice. Honestly, the happiest I see people in this game is when Bungie re-releases vaulted content. Offer a hand cannon someone already has, with a couple new perks and people go wild. The psychology behind it is crazy to me.
-
They may be predatory in their practice, but they are not stupid. They 100% know it would have to be a ground up completely new experience for a D3 to be successful. New classes, new solar system, new enemies. All of it.
-
2 RepliesFor making a Destiny 3, there has to be a successful Destiny 2.
-
1 ReplyLazy? No. It's about profits.
-
D3 in the future from a competent developer is something I'd like to see. Sony has done very little to push Marathon. They know it will flop and they will cut Bungie up and disperse their best employees amongst their remaining studios.
-
4 RepliesWhat many don't understand is unless Bungie has been working on a D3 for a few years now, it's going to be a couple of years before we would get a D3.
-
Correct. And D2 didn’t become complete and or felt empty until they put D1 content back in the game. It is delusion to think they will spend 1/4 of a billion making a D3 when a custom made Star Wars expansion with minimal scale but full price tag didn’t even sell well enough to keep D2 on track lol
-
Personally, I’m all for a remaster of D1 + D2, but I completely understand the skepticism and distrust. We won’t know for sure until next week and a little after that, but my observation is telling me Marathon was, unsurprisingly, a disastrous mistake.
-
I understand and feel the disappointment as well. I personally won't be playing Marathon at all because the art design just doesn't appeal to me. I do want it to be successful so Bungie has more money that ideally starts to tackle that “lazy” comment I think they were just royally screwed by Pete for years!! That being said D3 needs 3 new thing IMO to bring me into it. 1. Start telling the story of a new guardians and let me hear whispers of my other guardians from previous games. 2. Let us play as all 3 classes at once almost like GTAV switching between all three seamlessly unless it's a “dark” “no-revives” area. Also being able to command an AI teammate. (I'll give one caveat that this mechanism could be like Rally Flags where you typically have a limit) 3. Third-person POV. This is the most personal one, but I think it would add an element of depth. If in pvp, my solution would be extremely limit the radar or disable it while 3rd POV. Anyway I know some of you will hate this and I know we probably won't ever see these changes but that's what I want k bye
-
I'm all for D3 IF they bring absolutely nothing from D1 or D2. I have bought almost every exotic and lots of legendary from D1 twice now, let's not go for 3. I also do not need any D1 or D2 raids or activities. We can leave Trials behind as well, let's come up with something else. Turn Marathon into a game mode on D3, you can replace Gambit with it.
-
If we had D3 how good would its year 2 be compared to Forsaken and Taken King?
-
1 ReplyAt the moment I'd be happy with Destiny Classic as a Box Product. Like a remastered version. I could happily play that for a year or more.
-
If they just started developing it now then I agree, it would just be a rushed Hail Mary to try and save the company. I really don’t think it matters too much anymore, it would have to be friggen amazing, goty type stuff for me to even consider playing it like I did D1 an D2, too much bs with this company, I endured it because I loved the game, that time has past.
-
3 RepliesIf we get a D3 I better not see one reissued weapon. Like the game needs to take place years decades after D2.
