Protection against D2-mentia?

How many of you are old? I mean, say, "65 and retired old"? I just turned 80 a few weeks ago, in spite of over-indulging in smoking, working, medical problems, and general messing around. And I worry about dementia - "losing it" - more than, well, dying. How about you? Oh. I also really like D2, which I play at my pitiful level: I guess I would be considered "serious" about it, though. So, when I saw this article on "brain training" and dementia, I had to read it: https://www.npr.org/2026/02/18/nx-s1-5716010/brain-training-exercise-cut-dementia-risk-decades That "brain training" website looks and sounds pretty much like what we do playing D2 (without the benefits, like yelling and cursing at the monitor if I "die" before my time, which is fairly often). Would some of you please check me out on this? And then that made me wonder if those of us in my boat - older and with medical problems but who play D2 - are coping better with maintaining our function in the 'real world'? Are we? If you are like me, and old as well as a committed D2 player (but your family hasn't institutionalized you yet because you disappear into your part of the house every day), think about how you are functioning. If you are curious, respond to this and if there are enough of us (however many 'enough' is; I don't know, honestly), we ought to go to Bungie and our local universities and ask all of them to chart how we do over our last years. (This is kind of what cardiovascular researchers at Harvard did in Framingham, Massachusetts, years ago, and that's a major reason many of us are still alive, and cursing - I don't kick much any more). I'm betting that Destiny 2 PROTECTS at least some of us from dementia. But there are so many factors to consider, and I truly do not know how to do that. Hey, Bungie, are you curious about this? So, you old sods, we maybe could make sure our grandchildren can live better. Wouldn't that be worth maybe playing D2 and telling others about our lives? Regards. neuronji#0223
