We seem to celebrate the sciences far more… create these celebrities and legends but mathematicians seem to be largely ignored…Leonard Euler, Bernard Riemann, Gottfried Leibniz, Lagrange, laplace even modern day wonders like Gregory Perelman aren’t in the public consciousness! Why are these peoples achievements not celebrated far more by the wider public?

I think it’s because people like making a show of “supporting” science without making any effort to learn anything. If you pay any real attention to most sciences, you’ll encounter these names as celebrated figures regularly. Especially by those who do the science. At least in the realms of physics and astrophysics. But most “fans” of science just like the idea of it. They don’t want to know the history or the processes.

6 RepliesI'm in a Hollow Knight club on Xbox, and someone made a joke saying the next game should be a Lace themed kart racer. I in turn made a joke that it should be called "Hollow Knight: Lap Lace Transformed". Nobody got the joke and I was very sad.
