Is there any way you guys could put an in game notification when you going to have extended downtime? Like a day or 2 ahead so those of usnthat don't pay attention to social media know what's coming. Like when we log in something pops up telling us there will be extended downtime. I got home from work yesterday ready to get on and play but the servers were down, I figured it was the reset but had no idea it would be so long. I had to go on social media find out what was going on.

Edited by AmethystRhino: 2/27/2026 5:56:22 PMA developer that cared about their players most certainly would do that . Bungie is no longer that developer. Remember the all the nerfs? Remember the XP nerf disaster they lied about ? Remember how D2 was going to be full of new worlds? ( just Europa, Neomuna, Pale Heart, Kepler) Remember all the promises of new enemies and new stories and exotic quests? Most of D2 is content you already paid for and owned in Original Destiny. Copy and pasted and resold to you at a premium price. Remember all the broken promises of fixes and new maps coming for trials, crucible and gambit? Bungie as it barely exists today is a mere shadow of its former self. They did not create Halo, they did not create Original Destiny. All that talent, vision, creativity and player perspective is gone. All that remains is nothing more than the janitorial crew and they have no tools to do the job required and don’t want to even get their hands dirty.

Edited by The-IIID-Emp1r3: 2/27/2026 5:19:07 PMZenlessZoneZero, Arknights and such games all have ingame mailboxes / notifications systems for when devs wanna convey messages, be it for update info, saying sorry about issues, events, etc that you can access anytime, anyplace, while ingame and IF the games offline there's still the "info system" from the main menu that brings you to that specific page of their sites where that say what'sup so you know what's going on, but not once have these games ever had downtime really nor server issues, completely the opposite of bungie where they require a whole day just to power cycle their whole thing and make sure everything works Links ingame even open up an internet browser ingame... Yes... You read that right Bungie has no excuses to say they can't do something every other game on earth has had forever

Edited by Golden: 2/25/2026 11:15:51 PMWoah Bungie communicating ahead of time for updates and downtime? That would be over delivery on their end for Destiny 2

Zero communication where it matters, you aren't the only one who comes home after work ready to chill and blast aliens only to find the servers are still down. I can't be bothered loading the game now, might try again in June?

2 RepliesThat would be nice... usually it's accounted for... Via social media but a lack of post on the forum is definitely an oversight... As far as in game it would greatly depend on team communication and the actual process to put a message in game such things might not be as easy as perceived as some messages are put in well in advance which is why we get weird messages sometimes when events get shuffled.... But some kind of fast track for Bungie messages to our postmaster would be a thing if they could program such a thing with any kind of quickness that is..... Or possibly an event message board in the tower would be nice to...post

1 ReplyI wish they did a lot more communicating in game. I guess they just assume that most of us pay attention to everything offline.

You want Bungie to disseminate important information in the most efficient way possible? Hmmm big ask Guardian, big ask. ;)
