after reading an article of the Marathon director saying "in Destiny 2 you're just a bland superhero with a gun, while in Marathon you're a gritty survivor fighting against everything to survive" it genuinely pissed me off because it made me realize the relationship Bungie and D2 as this: you've been with this friend who's always been with you in your worst times, then you start spending less and less time with him without him knowing as you start a secret family, then when you want to make sure your new kid has a future, you take a baseball bat and beat the fiddle out of your old friend in the middle of the night to steal all his money to give your family a bright new future, and then you feel a little guilty that you beat up your friend so you decide to take him to the hospital before he wakes up and he's on life support barely clinging to life due to the severe injuries, and you walk off with your family and hope that nature decides if your friend survives or not. this is basically bungie with destiny 2, start doing major server changes in 2025 which caused a lot of outages on D2 without anyone knowing since it's being relocated for marathon, then launch the portal system untested and ignored ALL feedback on it throughout EOF, then when D2's player numbers started dropping like a brick, bungie then had to relocate some of the resources onto making it less insufferable and launched it during renegades, and now when D2 had some hope bungie just left it as is and went back to putting all resources on marathon and then delay any updates for D2 for half a year, and that's basically what we're dealing with right now and I'm just so pissed off at bungie, like I want marathon to succeed, but seeing how bungie hurt D2 and made soo many damn false promises I just want D2 to either die out or barely have any players before june to force bungie to do something to help D2 than leave it to suffer like this.
