Marathon has been a slow build for me as someone with 5k+ hours in D2 (I think). No experience in extraction shooters and really had no interest initially. But I'm getting super hyped, and it's mainly because I'll get to play something new by Bungie. I get the criticisms for their treatment of D2, but I also get that Bungie is a business at the end of the day. And they're trying to push for something they've never done. You got to at least respect them for that. And for the hard-core Destiny folks (I really consider myself one of them)- what if Marathon succeeding actually helps Destiny's future in the long run? Maybe praying for Marathon to flop is wishing the demise of Bungie/Destiny all together? And if that's how you feel, I'm not even saying I blame you, but I'm feeling way more optimistic as of late.
