Hello everyone,
I’d like to start a discussion focused specifically on adding Ukrainian language support to Marathon, at least in the form of text-only localization.
Why text localization matters
Even without full voice-over, text localization has a major impact on the overall player experience. It helps players:
understand the UI and menus faster
read game information and mechanics more clearly
follow the story and lore without confusion
enjoy the game more comfortably and naturally
Over the past few years, a growing number of players from Ukraine have consciously switched to using Ukrainian as their primary language in games and digital products. For many players, language accessibility is no longer just a preference - it directly affects whether they can fully enjoy and engage with a game.
Ukrainian localization would make Marathon more accessible and welcoming for a dedicated and growing player community.
Availability of localization teams
It’s also important to mention that there are already experienced Ukrainian localization teams who are ready and willing to work officially under the developers’ guidance and quality standards. From a production standpoint, this makes Ukrainian text localization a realistic and achievable step.
Thank you for reading, and hopefully Marathon can become accessible to even more players around the world.
Good luck to everyone!
P.S. Also please, any user, who want to ragebait or telling that we already how another launguages or so - i will not answer you.
