...From a Filthy Casual #8

Bungie, I have a short feedback here. I am sure others have asked for this so I guess I will throw my voice in. Can we have more freedom with our weapons? What I am talking about is the removal of the top slot being for Kinetic, Strand, Stasis and the middle slot for Arc, Void, Solar. I would love to have builds that use all one element. I realize this could "type-cast" me in a way, but that is a problem that I would welcome. Now I am sure you are also worried about activities with surges. In my opinion, we need to get rid of these anyway. It promotes forcing players to play a certain way or with certain weapons that may not even exist because your team is not making weapons fast enough/diverse enough. The easiest solution is to just do away with K/S/S and A/S/V slots. Maybe just do primary, special, heavy. This will make the double special people cry, but in reality, not many people do this. Doing this will allow you to curtail those playstyles that I am sure you do not want. I do realize that with that notion, primaries have to be revisited. Legendary primaries need to do more damage to orange bars and large power-delta red bars. This is what they are made for and with them doing so little or requiring so much ammo to kill a single target, this is what has given rise to double special in the first place. All in all, I would like to see more weapon freedom. The gunplay is the best in Destiny. It is bad enough that players are ability-spamming to win as it is (I shy away from this) but making it so that primaries are unusable at high levels and forcing players to always have at least one weapon that does not match what that player may want to do is very limiting. -Colo
