Before EoF Master versions, Gms and Trials Flawless gave Adepts and Artifice respectively. Whilst it was the same loot, the bonuses you got made pushing through the higher tier, worth it. 10+ to any stats on a weapon or 7,8% more damage to ai. Was a good enough of a reason to go through a though gm or a master raid. Whilst an extra 3+ to any stats sounds like nothing, Artifice armor was still highly sought after, 15+ if you got a whole set but realistically it would be a 12+ since you would have an exotic on. 12-15 extra stat points was a lot bigger then. Artifice was the way to reach triple 100 stats, even with a fragment that removed some stats. When crafting was introduced, Adepts got power crept all thanks to crafted being abled to have their perks enhanced. I guess that 10+ could still be good, but not as much. Now tier 5 is just a crafted weapon, but on steroids. Dropping with 3 perks in each column. Doing a master or epic (All feats) version of Equilibrium is completely pointless. All it gives you is tier 5 version of its loot guaranteed. Yeah. Running a normal version of that dungeon can still give you tier 5s. Epic raid, just has a different weapon set. Which is only as good as the current sandbox for those archetypes and even then, kind of disappointing. I am not saying that Adepts and Artifice was the end all be all of rewards, but at least it was one. If i can get the same reward from a master fireteam ops, then why should i bother with an Ultimatum ? I remember when they removed the Minor, Major and Boss spec mods from Adepts. It sucked, it really did. All i could use was just Backup mag, and sometimes Reload mod. The reason for a pve player to get an Adept was pretty much gone. Tier 5 could have been what replaced both Adept and Artifice and been the new rewards for Epic versions. But no. My question now is, where do we go from here ? How can you make loot more powerful than tier 5 ? Best thing is to go back. Stop with this tier system and make Artifice and Adept more desirable. It is not to late to make the change.
