Last day its playable is today ,it was a pretty decent game aswel but was ruined by the devs deciding to nerf farming materials/loot and drop rates of weapons to be like d2s drop rate so even the loyal anthem players left
I can see d2 being the same very soon since anything in the game that is worth farming isn't now since its normally locked behind stuff like feats and ultimate which should only be an option for sweats and should not decide gear rank anything from master difficulty, gm difficulty to ultimate difficulty should reward tier 4 to 5 no matter what ,forget these feats and ultimate difficulty that only 1% of the playerbase asked for
10k players on d2 last I checked about an hour ago for reference black desert online has 17k ,skyrim 18k, red dead redemption 2 a game that hasn't released any dlc or even support the game anymore has 27k players
We can act like d2 aint dieing but the numbers say it all so yes anthem is a reminder since players over the years would of put more money into d2 for it to potentially have servers shut down and all content gone forever!!

16 RepliesThat's what I told people on social media look what happened to anthem if player numbers don't change that rumor that destiny 2 servers will be shut down it will be a reality!
-
5 RepliesThe game was trash bro. Combat was awesome but when you spend half the mission flying to the next objective it gets old quick.

6 RepliesLet Anthem, another “Destiny killer”, be a reminder: predicting Destiny’s death is not as simple as some people make out.

What ruined the game was the pure lack of actual content. Loot was never an issue in anthem.
I can see d2 being the same very soon since anything in the game that is worth farming isn't now since its normally locked behind stuff like feats and ultimate which should only be an option for sweats and should not decide gear rank anything from master difficulty, gm difficulty to ultimate difficulty should reward tier 4 to 5 no matter what ,forget these feats and ultimate difficulty that only 1% of the playerbase asked for
How can you see it being the same? Its outlasted literally every game thats released since d1 launched and everything thats been called a "destiny killer." Literally every game that is the same genre as destiny has always had the best loot drop from the highest difficulty. It's pointless to have the best drop from the easiest things. I can also say that even just a half decent player can easily do all of the high end content with little to no issue. Its only the below average ones and the ones who don't even want to play that cant do things. Its pretty simple to understand. If you want the best gear then play what's required for it. Everything doesn't need to be dumbed down or lowered just so the patrol mains can have what everyone else has.
10k players on d2 last I checked about an hour ago for reference black desert online has 17k ,skyrim 18k, red dead redemption 2 a game that hasn't released any dlc or even support the game anymore has 27k players
Wow. Steam numbers again. D2 is a predominantly console player game and comparing it to games in a completely different genre doesn't mean much. Especially when d2 is still out preforming a ton of much newer games.
We can act like d2 aint dieing but the numbers say it all so yes anthem is a reminder since players over the years would of put more money into d2 for it to potentially have servers shut down and all content gone forever!!
The numbers that still show how even after 2 games across 11 years and still out preforming newer games shows its dying? Pretty sure that shows the opposite. Want to know what else does that too? The fact that even those who complain constantly or hate the game can't even actually quit the game. Just because a failed game is shutting down after a failed attempt to restart it doesn't make it suddenly relevant to a game that out lasted it for years and has clear indications to at least out last it by another year or more.

1 ReplyAnthem was never a fully thought out idea, 3 months from release and they haven't even finished 1 mission yet Plus they didn't allow the devs to learn from Bungies mistakes, if anyone said the word Destiny they would be fired I believe an Anthem 2.0 would have been great, but EA chose not to invest in the game further, a decision Sony might make about D2 eventually

Anthem was a great game with potential but the wrong ppl to handle it and also is a prime example of a team with a vision but with no plan. It was a gd game but was extremely lack luster but the open world and last boss fight from the last update was great.
-
I remember a good, fun game that was left to rot and eventually die. Reminds me of D2 PvP..........

super sad for anthem that game had potential, sadly they chose to not support the game after launch end even started banning players and streamers that they payed for using glitch

Loot wasn’t an issue, a lack of post campaign content was. And going after loot in Anthem right now fees better than Destiny. Handing out the best stuff doesn’t make people want to play the game when the point of the game is to get the best stuff.

1 ReplyDunno about that nerf stuff, I had no problem getting legendary gear and stuff in that game at the end, what killed it was EA cutting support when the devs were almost finished with their "NEXT" update. Sure the devs were originally to blame for it being an undercooked mess, but EA killed it when it might have gotten a second wind.

Anthem had many more problems than just nerfs to loot.
-
It was never a decent game. Let’s be clear.

Who cares about player numbers ? Anthem was amazing , it just felt a bit short but at least they did not change the whole game into a version that is 100 times worse to satisfy the streamers so they would have new content to post like they did to destiny 2 . They should have left destiny 2 as it was and made a destiny 3 , a 4th and maybe even a 5th . That is too late now , they already completely destroyed destiny 2 and the opportunity to make another or multiple destiny games so most people gave up on destiny 2 and already left and thats why the player count is so low but if bungie comes up with another dlc then all the d2 streamers will instantly come back with their fanboy army and the player numbers will go up again so destiny 2 will never die cause of marketing by streamers but truly , destiny 2 does not exist anymore . It is destiny the portal streamer dayjob if a new dlc comes out .

Anthem was ok. But enjoyed Outriders hella more.

That's importantly I told people that harder content should have better rewards I was told to shut my mouth and if I don't like the way the game is that I should leave and delete the game even though I have over 4000 hours total with destiny one and destiny two.
