Hoping to build a pc soon, but the increase in ram prices is making me hesitant. Is there any foreseeable hope of the prices going down or should I just accept my fate?

Edited by Cultmeister: 1/5/2026 5:31:29 AMIf anything it’s only gonna get worse as companies pivot towards industrial AI products and away from consumer gaming, so you may have to just suck it up. On the plus side, in the medium term this may force devs to actually optimise their games properly since people won’t be able to just afford new hardware every couple of years to brute force performance.

Doubtful. And I so wanted to build a new PC this year too.

Unfortunately nothing that I can see... Really sucks for PC gaming

No, as long as people keep paying $60k plus. They won’t drop the price.

I had to buy some DDR5 for my new build in december and unfortunately had to just accept my fate. Looking like the price of gpu's and storage are on the increase as well so ram might be the last of your worries. Just a bad time to be waiting to build a pc in general. :(
