And yes, it's likely due to the massively smaller playerbase after EoF launch. But that doesn't mean the current state is fine of casuals up to average and slightly above average players being the punching bag of egomanic-ill PvP gods using us as their personal ego boost.
When I come from work and want to have some fun in PvP, it shouldn't be like this Bungie.
I rather have matches be 4v4 again but with better matchmaking quality when Destiny 2 launched than playing... This stinky mess of PvP in its current state. Way too much ability spam, way too strong exotics (looking at you, Praxic Blade with Hyperblade catalyst and Defensive Form allowing literal OHK dmg directly after a block) and of course way too good players in general PvP.
You can't balance matchmaking around a small player population and catering towards the small, narrow top end while ignoring the broad, massive bottom end.
To put it into corpo lingo for you: "That's like focusing your shop on the most paying customers and then wondering why your customer count goes down overall".
Also, can you PLEASE make every UI ELEMENT from Crucible modes properly transparent? A heavy spawn icon should NEVER cover up an enemy!

1 ReplyThe issue is that the crucible team never gave up on trying to make destiny a competitive fps after the game failed commercially as a competitive fps. The game thrives when casuals have easy to use effective options. But bungie listens to the loud couple of hundred people who are delusional enough to think destiny is a competitive fps. It didn't help that they handed out the comp and trials loot. Those need to be hard to get to incentivize people to try hard in those playlists. Now people sit in 6v6 and pub stomp driving away anyone who wants to play the game casually because no one plays 3v3 anymore.

3 RepliesAgain who cares just delete it from the game it’s always been the issue. Just get rid of it. It will be better for the game anyway.

Just wake me up for the next Iron Banner. In three-ish months…I think…

Problem is the only people that still play Pvp only play destiny PvP … then again destiny is a pve game

A 4v4 mode wouldn’t do much to help casuals want to play PvP again tbh. Agree with the abilities and exotic part, a lot of these one shot, suspend, bolt charge, completely ruin PvP. The main goal for PvP as a whole should be to try and get everyone to want to play PvP, as it used to carry this game in content droughts. I wish they could just follow what used to work back in the day, but there’s just too much stuff to try and balance.
