Edit: What does "Weighted Throwing Knife gets a second bounce" mean? I've been trying Athrry's Embrace in the shooting range and the knife doesn't seem to actually bounce. Am I misunderstanding the Exotic description?
---
I've been trying to level up my Hunter, but I admit: I suck at it.
I put Powerful Attraction on my cape and have plenty of Orb generation, where I'm running into problems is when Orbs aren't easy to come by, like during boss battles and whatnot.
I feel like something isn't clicking, like there's a trick or a gameplay style that I'm just not getting. Or are Hunters just glass cannons and I need to learn to play around that?
The build I'm using right now is Gifted Conviction with a few extra points in Class to get the Overshield, that Overshield has saved my -blam!- more times than I can count. Should I put even more points into Class for the time being?
Thanks for any advice you can offer!

Equipping Athrry’s gives it a 2nd bounce on top of the first one, and *after* the 2nd successful bounce it gives it god like tracking towards any nearby target in the direction the 2nd bounce makes it go. In practice: say you know an enemy is hiding behind a wall to your left. AIM towards the floor to the right making the knife hit the floor, then the wall on the right side, after that the knife will find the target to your left and instantly track towards it. This is more useful in PvP tho then it’s in PvE. But it can be made to work in PvE scenarios. Better alternatives tho for a solar knife build are Ophidia spathe or caliban’s hand depending on you actively score the kills with the melee’s. --- [quote]I've been trying to level up my Hunter, but I admit: I suck at it. They don’t have a lot of ‘in build’ healing options unless you use an exotic for it. Hunter tend to rely more on distraction and evasion rather then healing directly. Strand clones, invis, blinding slow and insta freeze, that kind of thing. On solar hunter your best option is to run a healing grenade and high melee stat build as you mentioned above. Either that or a good alternative for hunter is to use trip mine grenades with Ahamkara spine + grenade kills giving you cure and radiant. It’s a classic build, but still good for add clear but also single target/boss dps rotation.
