This Call to arm event should have been a fun challenge if not celebration of surviving this dlc release with all of its ups and downs and rollbacks but the one glaring issue with it is the competitive scoring system. On paper there is nothing wrong with the concept of the community pushing themselves to reach the proverbial king of the hill but player trust is at an all time low and for good reason: cheating. After the fiascos of the Raid race and countless YouTube videos of cheaters in crucible why should any player trust the score values of the competitive score system. Compound the issue that trust is so low that even if you were to claim the emblem at the end the wider player base won’t think “dang, they are top tier player” it’s devolved to “they probably got it cheating.” This is what the lack of trust in Bungie in keeping their game as free as possible from cheaters has created. Until, Bungie can show they can clean up their game and cheat detection systems events like this will always be seen as suspect and actively hurt the already dwindling player base by adding the assumption of “why play when the cheaters run the game.”
