I was a day one D1 and D2 player, but after awhile, I got tired of the way things were going, so I quit playing. I haven't played since June of '23, mainly because I personally thought the Witch Queen expansion wasn't all that good. I do miss some of my Destiny friends, so I thought about coming back, but I have to ask myself and anyone else... is it even worth it?
I know I'll have a lot to do, and that should keep me busy, but after that, I'm unsure. When I quit, the seasons weren't great, the gear was meh. As a crucible guy, I was let down at the lack of new maps and such. Now I've been told that I'll hate the way trials is, it wasn't made clear exactly why, but apparently it's even more casual now? Idk, I'm looking for feedback from other sources aside from friends to tell me if coming back is even worth it at this point in time.

Witch queen was good. Not sure what you didnt like about it. But to answer your question - no, is the short answer. The long answer - stuff like the portal, levelling, no QA, lack of fixes and Bungie doubling down on a lot of the bad stuff which stems from having some bizarre idea of what the players want when no one has asked for a lot of the stuff they have done is what the issue is. The portal is the main glaring problem. Nobody asked for it and almost nobody likes it. But, at the end of the day that is just my opinion and it is subjective. Most people share the sentiment but you can always log in and try for yourself. The one massive positive since you played however will be the 3.0 subclasses and the builds you can now do. You also have Strand and Prismatic that you probably have never tried out.
