(AFTER UPDATE) Me & friends have 0-1 decoders after 4 hours
Logged back on after I saw BungieHelp tweet that a fix had been released to increase the drop rate of decoders in all activities. Restarted the game once after that just to make sure it was downloaded too.
After that, me and some friends did the following activities:
* Completed 1 1020 Nightfall (this gave me and a friend 1 decoder, the other got 0)
* Completed 1 Haunted Forest run (no decoders)
* Completed about 4 events of Contact (no decoders)
* Did three patrols on Titan (no decoders)
* Completed the Pit of Heresy dungeon (no decoders)
* Completed the Izanami Forge (no decoder)
* Completed entire Altars of Sorrow (no decoder)
It's been a pretttty solid game session, and we have basically nothing at all to show for it.
Yet another friend says they "played 4 hours of Crucible then did a forest run" after this update, and got zero decoders too.
It's a huge shame because i am ACTUALLY kinda interested in the Braytech Werewolf & Horror Story despite them being very out of meta.
This whole thing is starting to look [b]pretty [/b]bad, and I'd really like if Bungie could just try and get rid of the decoders in this entire equation, or at LEAST make Eva sell them for candy.
I have lots of candy and chocolate coins BTW, the drop rate on those is totally fine.
If it turns out I was actually "doing this wrong" by not running Strikes for 4 hours straight, well.... I'm NOT going to do that.
Plus, these were also described as being about as easy to get as umbrals, which i HAVE gotten a number of drops of.

I got 18 in a 2 hour period running patrols on the moon. Every activity you did was long and drawn out besides Titan.

Ok I'm not saying you are wrong but I've gotten 4 in just 2 crucible matches. I have absolutely no faith in bungie. They literally have the best blueprint for success just lousy management who makes all the wrong choices. With that being said I went hours without multiple ciphers when my teammates got like half a dozen.

I hear speedrunning 750 Ordeals is a good method of getting them I'm sorry to hear you didn't get any ciphers from that I've definitely had days like that where the game isn't on my side

what I do is make an assault on a melting pot and a gambit like this they give me a decoder every two activities but still and it was just luck

Same, roughly 8 strikes 2 PvP 4 gambit 20+ patrols 2 nightfalls Had 1 drop, in my first strike.

Same issue. Drop rate is still appalling.

Got one after two Control matches, before it was one after three.

I agree this patch did nothing. After four hours of game time I only got one cipher to drop. This event isnt worth grinding.

Same. Not one drop. Restarted game, restarted PS4, restarted my router, restarted my modem, sacrificed 4 chickens and 3 goats, prayed to Jobu and gave him KFC, did the lucky emote 69 times, and ate all the candy in the house while wearing a mask. Not one cipher.
