Swords Should Become Special Weapons
The fact that a special weapon (shotguns) is better in almost every way than a heavy (swords) is absolutely ridiculous. Move swords to kinetic/energy slot & shotguns to heavy slot, as shotguns are more effective in swords’ range.

1 ReplyI still think they'd be worse than shotguns even if you gave them a lot of ammo (maybe the exotic ones would see some use though). I think there's sometbing wrong with the way swords swing and register in general that makes them pretty much useless (aside from heavy attacks or blocking but those both waste ammo). I would also not enjoy getting killed by the black talon over and over again, as this is the best "ranged" sword.

We need swords in all three slots that take all three ammo types honestly.

I think it’d be cool if they added a sword and shield exotic weapon, I wouldn’t care about the perks and the animation would barely need to change, would just look cool.

I never thought about this but that’s a great idea. as long as black talon stays in the heavy slot.

That doesn’t fix the problem with the ammunition whatsoever just by shifting it to a different slot

At this point they should remove the slots and allow players to use whatever 3 weapons they want. If you use 3 heavies in crucible have fun with no ammo.

2 RepliesI'm a sword fan myself, although I rarely see any others using them!! From a pve perspective, and maybe this isn't what you're referring to, I much prefer them in fact!! Could do with some improvements though; we definitely don't have swords as good as the dark drinker or the raze lighter!!

I like sword in heavy for escalation protocol. If moved to special I wouldn't be able to team it with coldheart or PLens.
