I’ve not encountered it for a few weeks now. Whereas some days I got it every day. If there’s one thing that tells me, it’s that this bug must be a real devil to consistently replicate.

After getting the black screen at the tower, I tried the following: 1) Selecting the tower spawn point again (fast travel) did not work for me. This just returned me to another black screen. Tried multiple times. 2) Selected a different location on another planet (Trostland) and it loaded up (which worked fine but..) Then I returned to the tower and again got the black screen. 3) Went to change character, selected the same character again. Tried loading into the tower and again got the black screen. 4) Closed Destiny 2 completely on my PS4. Restarted Destiny 2 and went to the tower. Again black screen. 5) *** Finally during that black screen, I tried changing my chest piece back and forth several times and this seemed to work (or was a coincidence after a minute or two of black screen). Since this works in the raid when players can't spawn in, I decided to try it in the tower as well. Seemed to work. Just hoping this helps debug the issue.

After far too much time on D1 to safely admit without aknowledging my lack of "a life" and far too much time in D2 to admit without acknowledging that I might be a masochist with an addiction to Destiny, I finally had to buy MHW just to get a break from Bungie's stupidity. As a long time Bungie fan I'm tipping my hat to Bungie for all the good years, I'll be watching you with hope that you'll rediscover what it was that made you Bungie. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go beat a dragon to death with a stick.

It's funny because it's true! They can't even keep the black screen at the tower from happening and that was bug from within the first month of the game.
