Do fortunes actually do anything?
Heard that people got fortunes saying specific things like "you'll get more motes of light from engrams", and very vague things too like "great changes are on the horizon for you".
Do these things appear to have any actual effect? Has someone with a specific fortune actually tested it to see if it changes anything?
I'm asking because the "great changes" example I mentioned in the first paragraph is mine, and I'd really like to know if this means something good's about to happen to me.

Mine reads: "The truest strength comes from within. The next best is a Ward of Dawn." So am I supposed to play as a bubble blower now? I prefer pissing people off with shoulder charge....

Apart from take up an inventory slot ? Probably not, but you never know. Look at the raisin thing from last year.

Not at this point but an interesting fact, you cannot store it in the vault. IMO I think it's stuck on your character (unless you dismantle it, dismantling does nothing) until such a time it will become needed for something. A shader? An emblem? I'm sure it won't be a terrific thing as so many got distributed, if anything at all comes out of it. On reddit there is a thread with all known messages, there were 50 last time I checked the post. Some have been outlined (10-12 of them) as being "possible D2 info or a lead into what's coming in destiny proper"

Not sure if it's luck or not but as soon as I got the cryptarch fortune I had 3 exotics drop two from legendaries and one from a blue . Never had that before ... only happened once right after I got it .
