We Just Beat The Raid In 1 Wipe, Did Aksis Part-2 In 1 Try, WITH A Botched 3rd-DPS Round. Here's How.
385 Dark-Drinker with Weapons of Light and Tether.
It sounds simple, and it honestly is. Have 2 Titans run Weapons. one for the Canon-Users in Mid, and 1 to use Dark-Drinker against Aksis' Legs on Round 3.
I've been saying for over a week that Dark Drinker and Raze Lighter are the only exotics you need for the Raid. Now I can honestly say, JUST use Dark Drinker. It does more effective DPS, it does MORE DAMAGE than G-Horn and Sleeper Sim.
Datto has done the math, and can 110% verify the results.
At 384 Light, and being the highest-level member of my Raid-Team at the time, Dark Drinker did INSANE damage. I was the only person using it and we had him down to about 48% Health by DPS Round 2. That's 52% Health GONE in 2 rounds!
Get a Dark Drinker... And Deej? Bungie Devs? ... Leave. It. Alone.

Sounds like the first time I beat Aksis as a 367 in a fireteam of the same level. No high light weapons, disorganised scrambling for positions, sporadic dps, and one muppet going to the wrong platform after damage phase 2. We still beat it without 385 swords and the rest, and as randoms bodged together from the recruitment forums. Now I'm at 386 and run with teams of equal light and experience, it's done in no time at all with 2 clean platforms left at the end usually.

6 RepliesWe did a raid last night with NO wipes, killing Aksis first try. Wanna know how? -blam!-ing communication and skill. 3 DPS rounds was all it took and no one used dark drinker. Hell only one person used Sleeper Simulant.

52% in two rounds is average. Every team I've beaten him with has gotten the boss to at least half health by the start of round three.

1 ReplyI (personally run sleeper sim/Cannon. I usually get three sleeper shots for the first round/Three shots of cannon for second/seven for the last with bubbles and tethers. Dark drinker is very good. Both are great setups. And good job for giving helpful information. #Tamponmasterrace

Gg, beat whole raid in 1 wipe (were messing around with zamboni pieces and one fell lol) and 3 damage rounds as well, not hard with a half decent team.

Been taking 2/3 of his health off in 2 rounds for a week now using cannons and snipers only.Granted we all are 380+.

I've been contemplating switching to dark drinker for the raid, but the dragon uppercut from raze just feels so good to use.

I have killed him on round 3 without swords it's all about the cannons

Without swords we had him down to 50% in the first dps phase, had an oh crap moment on the 2nd stun, no dps, then sent him to his final dps rage on the third round. We brought him down in 2 dps phases, use the cannons, all of them. I was 385, we had one 380 and the rest were in their 370's. DPS for teleport one and 2 was mostly snipers then unload on the final teleport. No swords needed just people that can output dps.

2 RepliesBy the way, did Datto by any chance compare outbreak prime to those weapons? I seem to do good on dps with it, but find it hard to believe a primary does as much dps as a heavy.

2 RepliesI've personally seen 40% damage in a single round without dark drinker. Personally beaten him in 3 dps rounds. More than one way to skin a cat I suppose.

3 RepliesI have a feeling aksis will release adds at empower slam on HM. It is too convenient that during damage phase he freezes in place to take full onslaught with no form of defense or distraction. Or he will release spider tank bombs to keep your distance.

Our first time thru we skated thru everything except the final fight. that took us at least an hour but we did beat him with a botched 3rd dps round.
