Stop -blam!-ing Smoking
It pisses me off how every time I do a raid there is that one douche who says, "I gotta smoke" or "Gimme a minute hit the bong" and everyone ends up waiting ten -blam!-ing minutes. Can you not wait 30 to smoke or do whatever the shit you are doing? I can get married and raise a family in the time it takes you to smoke. I just want to get the raid done, not sit around making awkward smalltalk with these people who are going to quit if you don't -blam!-ing come back after a reasonable amount of time. so please for the love of god, wait or actually take as long as you said you would.
In fact any break that takes longer than 5 minutes pisses me off. What are you doing? There is no fun in waiting I can tell you that.

14 RepliesYup. There are SO many hypocrites out there. The same people who want to ban cigarettes, or make the smiking age higher, or have all of these ant-smoking campaigns, are the same ones who wan't pot and other drugs legal, even for teens.

Wait for someone else to say they need a break for <insert legitimate reason>. That way, the team isn't delayed more than they have to be, because I smoke during that break. What's more, I have the common courtesy to... turn off my mic while I smoke.

If our raid is moving right along I won't take a break to smoke, but if someone can't do the hive jumping maze on their first try, the piston jumping maze, or we have routinely wiped the same part over and over than I'm heading out to smoke.

Start your own group. No smokers. Problem solved.

I don't raid with LFG teams and most of my clan smokes but most smoke while playing. If it takes them that long then more realistically they are doing other things as well, smoking doesn't take 10 min. I smoke outside so I do have to take a few min to smoke if the raid is taking a long time. With a good group we can get it done in under an hour so i'm fine but with some people it takes much longer, most often on the challenge modes. I can smoke and get back before most are back from the washroom so I just wait until someone else has to break for that or something else. Either way, raids can take some time and LFG teams can be stressful so that may explain the need for a smoke but people need breaks for lots of reasons.

Meh. I smoke, and i take a cigarette break, but only between sections, or if the boss is taking forever ill ask if people mind. Its 5 minutes, not too long. Also, no matter how good i think i am, im not very good when im getting stressy cos i want a fag an hour and a half in to people making mistakes etc lol.

I used to kick people who did that. I'm not going to put the raid on hold so that you can go satisfy your poor health decisions.

As for cigarettes, I smoke those also, and even I see your point. I would never ask the group to stop mid-raid so I could smoke. Never done the raids in Destiny before, so idk exactly how long they take. But if it's like an hour or an hour and half long raid, I'm gonna need a smoke afterwards. But that just comes down to whether the group is willing to wait for me or not. And if they did kick me, I would completely understand. Smokers can be civil, so you non smokers should be civil also instead of making hateful posts about it.
