And i thought Cathedral was bad on Control...
I never thought an activity would make me want to [b]cut the webbings of my toes with copier paper[/b], and yet, here is [i]Rift on [b]Cathedral of Dusk[/b][/i] proving me wrong.
I...I even played it solo. [i]Once.[/i] Because that's all it took to turn my frown [b][i]further[/i][/b] down, then put it through the [b]SRL[/b] fans, deform its spire and gift it to the Architects.
Months ago, when [b]Clash[/b] was the IB activity, I thought to myself: [quote]Cool! I hope they never have Rift as Iron Banner, though. Pshh, why would they even, that wouldn't make sense. I've seen Icebreaker nerfs that make more sense than that.[/quote]Well, cover me in honey and call me Sally, [b][i]IT'S RIFT!![/i][/b] Which isn't a [b][i]bad[/i][/b] thing, unless winning is your objective. To further rub salt into my oriface, [b][i]Cathedral of Dusk.[/i][/b] <--- That sentence doesn't even finish properly, nor does it need to. Simply; [i]because Cathedral of Dusk.[/i]
With the cherry on the -!wecantevencensorthisword-! cake, I now have to [b]LFG[/b] for Iron Banner. [b][i]FOR IRON BANNER.[/i][/b] I have 10 pages of friends I've acquired over Y1 of Destiny. Guess how many were online?

That's actually my favorite map for rift. Big enough to make changes but still has two fast routes with plenty of exits

2 RepliesEver since you made this post, cathedral of dusk has been coming up 80-90% more often. I think bungie saw your post and decided to force us to play only cathedral of dusk to gather info on how long it takes people to rage quit before the timer runs out on the map. Oh and the overtime timer.

1 ReplySince it's so umm..."open" I don't mind it as much as memento. Even Bannerfall seems to get more crowded near the shield. Cathedral they have to enter a huge room, and then get around a massive pillar. Ample time to take out the runner.

I just wish it had a checkpoint, because usually once I manage to reach the B Flag and meet all the other players for battle, the Iron Banner has already ended. Ps: I live with a cat and a woman too. The shrieking is real. Quick edit: A friend of mine just messaged me overly excited saying that he managed to grab the spark in Cathedral of Dusk. He can't wait to ignite the rift next week.

1 ReplyThis is one of the maps in the game that is REALLY designed for 2 TEAMS to play. When one side is coordinated mounting an effective defence is easier than Sunday morning, and assaulting that final "room" is so much easier. The Rift should probably be in the pool room; any further back and it's too close to enemy spawns to be reasonably expected of a team of randoms. On the other hand, with 2 solid teams of 6 this map is brilliant. I'd like to see an Iron Banner singles mode, or at least an event designed for lone players. That would let them alternate modes for IB more often and with less overall impact to the loners out there.

4 RepliesEvery time I see its cathedral I have to fight the urge to quit. Even when we win, I just don't like it for rift. It's so spread out, when you respawn it's a long haul back to the spark. A lot of players like to camp the spawn too. This caused a team to lose against us. Too many were camping our spawn. One of our teammates got the spark and made it to their rift unchallenged.

We could report our friends that still play destiny. And start a friend share program. Not lfg. Lfyftpw. Looking for your friends to play with.

Honestly the yr 2 maps were terrible. TOO BIG AND TOO SPACIOUS tbh. Too much elevations and places camp friendly which destiny DOES NOT need. The yr 1 maps are clearly better in comparison.
