I absolutely can't stand it when parents buy their kids vehicles. It's to the point that it's almost an expectation. My opinion. -blam!- off and earn your own vehicle you spoiled brat

    • Saved up for a while for a new car. My first car was kinda inherited because my dad died and I got his 2003 Toyota Echo. Which was hella ghetto but it drove. Just last week I bought a 2015 Subaru Legacy lightly used. (By a single large check so no monthly payment.) I can't say it was all me though because I had about $10,000 inheritance left. But the other $15,000 was mine, from various jobs mainly from being a lifeguard.

My parents didn't buy my vehicle, they ran it for 14 years then got a new car then dumped it's remains on me

    • Bought my own for decades, but my Dad did buy my first 2. I worked for him though. I did buy my oldest son his first car and will my youngest as well. Nothing fancy, but dependable.

    • My parents helped me buy my car. However I had to spend my own money to help get it.

        • My parent bought it and gave it to me. Then little by little took away all paid privileges, starting with gas and leading to repaying the full cost of the car. I got to drive around at 16 and I still learned the necessary values of earning money and allocating payments to keep the things I need.

        • 18 in college and spent $2500 on decent car. Been saving since I was 16 because my parents said "we can drive you around or you can save up for your own car". If you knew them then you'd understand

        • I didn't cause it was free. Not "my parents bought it" free, "my friend gave it to me cause he got a new one and that one wasn't worth much anyways" free.

Not my first one. Where we live is to far out of town and to dangerous of a road for me to ride a bike. Plus with both of my parents being gone by 5 in the morning, they couldn't take me to work and none of the neighbors could either. So basically I had to have a car before I could get a job. But now I'm leasing my own vehicle P.S just because someone's parents buy them a vehicle doesn't make them a spoiled brat

        • Yes, I've paid for all 3 of the cars I have owned. The only assistance I ever received was from the bank for a used car loan for my current car.

          • My dad bought a $250 1989 caprice that doesn't run. He's going to help me learn how to put and engine in it and work on it together. I as well don't want my parents to buy me everything so when the car runs and it's mine I will be paying my dad back. For the car engine amd paint. Plus a bonus for teaching me if I can afford it.
