So Our Friend Was Getting Bullied On-stream...
No video, but earlier today I was running the raid with a good group of friends. Everything was cool until we got to The Daughters. We ran through it really smoothly despite the problem. Here was the problem: one of my friends decided to stream it. And he had about 70 something people watching it at the time. Now here's the big kicker, his voice sounds like a 12 year old amped on sugar, and everyone began making fun of him about it. Some people started telling him that he'd never beat the raid, that he's trash and he should go back to bed, and pretty much any bad insult you could imagine. This made a lot of us angry. Our fireteam leader (name withheld in case of moderator attacks) started encouraging him. He kept him in the zone, made sure he ignored those guys and that he was calm. Now, here's one thing to consider: he's autistic. So he isn't very good in these situations. And no one in the chat knew that and they just kept being overall (pardon my language) dicks. And whenever he got worked up, he got really emotional and overreacted about every little thing. (Not in the angry kind of way, but in the more [b][i]fearing[/i][/b] scheme of things). We made him turn off the stream, and just kept going. But for that time, he didn't break, and he did fine. He calmed down, and he didn't give up. We never beat oryx, but we plan to kick him in the rear tomorrow.

Well, do your best to explain that those people are the most verbal in the gaming communities and if you stream it will happen.

Edited by Huntress: 10/18/2015 1:12:32 PMHonestly some people are just complete a$$holes, all you can really do is try to rise above it and ignore them. Can be hard to do sometimes but it's really the only effective solution, afterall they're only leaving those sort of comments to get a reaction.

He shouldn't have been streaming then. Not to be harsh but once you put yourself out there you have no control over how people act. Obviously everything could have been avoided if he wasn't streaming or if he disabled comments.

Im not gonna be a douche BUT this is a part of streaming. He have to be able to control the situation and answer positive or negative coments. Or simply ban them. Anyways you cant controll trolls

if he's not good in those situations he should subject himself to it. Don't stream if you don't have thick skin.

This is pretty common knowlege though, the only thing one can really do is to know what you're in for and just pay no attention to them. If you take everything personally on the internet you're gonna have a REALLY shitty time.

Probably shouldn't have streamed it but I have faith he will complete the raid. People don't like squeakers. I have friends that are younger but I let their playing speak for them and not their pitch of voice.

I am also autistic. Also have add and adhd. Your friend (whoever he is) has nothing wrong with him and should NEVER feel bad about ANYTHING some dumbass Internet warrior says. I used to get mad and sad when people talked shit to me about my illnesses but then I realized I don't give a -blam!- about what they think. I'm this way because that's the way I was born. I can't do anything about it and if someone doesn't like me they can -blam!- right off. Dude OP is talking about if you see this just do this. Don't care about what people like that think of you. They talk shit to people like us because even though they don't have an illness thier lives are worse than ours. They have to talk shit about other people to make themselves not hate thier own lives. You are a great person no matter what flaws you have! Hell I also have a shit voice. I sound like a -blam!-ing redneck!
