Carrying Legendary Engrams Into TTK?
I have more than 15 legendary engrams stocked up in my vault waiting for the release of TTK. Not sure if im wasting vault space by doing this. I have had a few people tell me i wont be able to carry them over into the next DLC because it locks to the current DLC once it is earned. Others have said i will be able to bring them over and get new gear from TTK. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No new gear. Will be all oldies. Sad but true. I'd grind em out til you're jus about to level the cryptarch and then wait. The package you receive once you level him after ttk drops guarantees better goodies. Hope this helps.

I'd keep 3 and get your cryptarch within an engram away from leveling up. Beyond that is useless.

Have you ever noticed that sometimes the cryptarch reloads the decrypt screen and other times all your engrams are on one screen? Go run a dragon strike and then run a tiger strike you will notice two separate decrypt screens from the cryptarch assuming you get engrams. The answer is no but you will get rep that will get you packages that will result in potential rolls on new TTK gear.

I or rather we (myclan) did this for house of wolves we had loads legendary and exotics off xur too... This is what happened Once opened they gave us all the old stuff from the engrams or motes of light and strange coins..nothing dropped in the way of new stuff (houseofwolves) Now.. What did happen is this. Our crptarc leveled up.. By quite a few levels.. Now every package we opened from him had new stuff in (houseofwolves) weapons, engrams which turned into new stuff etc.. Would I do it again?? Yes Am I doing it for TTK.. Yes Go for it mate save the legendarys.. Exotic engrams.. And packages for exploring from daily public events and leveling up factions etc

They will only give you house of wolves stuff. But are an effective way to store rep for the cryptarch

the will not become post ttk gear, if it follows the pattern of the last expansion. If you remember, it was only the engrams from ether chests a week before HOW that turned into new items.

It's just like before any engrams you have now will turn into current gear that goes for legendaries and exotics best to just stock up on materials for TTK so you can dig for new gear we xur comes that first week
