DONE with this "treasure key" BS!
Like many of you, I spent countless hours this weekend grinding the "wolves" events in search of treasure keys. It was fun for about the first hour or two... but after that it was irritating beyond belief.
I found 2 keys and 2 legendary engrams.... and a shit ton of blue engrams.
I can't believe they actually thought this would be a good idea or fun for us players. HoW isn't even out yet and I'm already feeling completely let down. The mindless idiocy of running back and forth between 2 spots on a map... fighting the same fight over and over and opening chest after disappointing chest.... is this a sign of what the rest of the DLC is going to be like?
I'm sure many of you will disagree with me and that's likely because these forums are filled with a lot of people who will be fans of the game no matter how much it goes to shit.
Anyway... If I'm doing a patrol bounty and stumble across a wolf event, I'll stop and do it... but beyond that... I'm DONE with that tedious grind!

You're supposed to do the bounties and let it go man .. Not grind it forever. That's not what it was designed for.

1 ReplyYou're usually more level headed than this. Your user name is memorable to me because I'm on the MS Gulf Coast. Anyways, I think it's pretty obvious that what many of us have been doing over the last several days is not how Bungie intended us to play these events. What you're SUPPOSED to do is run each event once a week to get the bounty finished and get your weekly rep, and then just run them casually as you chance across them. After you reach max rank for the Queen, then you can stop them entirely. If you want a small chance at a treasure key, go ahead and play them as much or as little as you want. If you're sick of doing them than quit. You don't "need" the treasure keys.

Yes blame bungie for YOUR decision of farming keys. Bungie is so sorry that you didn't get a key every time because everything is supposed to be handed to you or spoon fed to you like a child.

Some people are so ready for house of wolves to drop this is all they really need to do to get a little more prepared. New to grind fest type games? I don't think this is new, just a different way to do it. I'm thinking that this game isn't for you bro. It's a grind fest. Nothing new here. All this is doing is giving the true grinders a chance at having a head start. A few hours? That's it? Don't get mad when later down the road more stuff like this shows up. It won't be for you either. Ever seen the movie WAL-E? You seem like the sort of person who were on those space ships. You don't actually NEED any keys for anything except opening a chest. It's your fault if you've grinder pointlessly for hours, that obviously wasn't the intent, but of course people have to take it to extremes.

I think it's kind of fun. Racing to the chest and then racing to get same chest again and watching everybody else zoom past in their sparrows. Looks like a futuristic highway.
