Is buying Exotics from Xur "Earning" them?
If you voted yes, no, or kinda, comment below why or why not it is or is not "earning". After seeing so much controversy on this subject I want to see what some people have to say, you are all entitled to your opinions so have at it Guardians!!!

Does it make one feel better to say "I spent x a out of hours playing a game to get something not real!? " If one needs to lord over someone about stuff in a GAME, then they are just sad.. No one really cares because it doesn't effect your game at this point.

2 RepliesIf anything, it's the only way to earn exotics. You have guaranteed ways to get the coins to buy the exotics, and getting exotics to drop is RNG. That being said, most of the exotics that xur sells are underpriced.

This is an old, endless and dumb debate. It's like having a job and spending your earned money on a new television, as opposed to getting one on a random Wednesday as a complete surprise gift from your wife/girlfriend.

I love people who say you don't "earn" it by buying it with strange coins. That's like saying people have never earned anything in life because they had to work to get what they wanted. It would be earned if they just randomly stumbled across it somewhere and picked it up. First world problems

1 ReplyI think you earn the coins to buy the exotics from xur. I also think that the ones you buy should be slightly different from the ones that drop. Maybe slightly less powerful and with a different colour scheme or xurs mark on them. Something like that.

If coins were weekly heroic only and I didn't get like 10 of them out of engrams a week it would be more acceptable. Besides once he sells Ghorn (or in my case Thunderlord) he will be entirely irrelevant. Xur is simply unsustainable and that's why he is convienently forgetting to bring ammo or engrams or both each week.

buying is earning it more that RNGing it when you get strange coins your working twards a goal when you get it randomly through a nightfall or raid or crucible its not working hard to earn something its luck

I would say that buying things from Xur are the items most earn't. I mean eventually he will sell his entire loot table. The question is are you masochistic enough to still be playing Destiny's "SOS" for that long?

The only exotics you actually earn is Thorn, Bad juju, Pocket infinity, invective. Not Super good advice that shit is to easy.

Post is irrelevant because of one word, "Earning". You don't "earn" things in a video game. You don't "work" when playing a video game. The most you put into playing a video game is time. That's it. Some people have this assumption that they deserve some outstanding reward for their "effort" when the actual reward for the time spent playing a video game is the enjoyment of playing a video game.
