With the site update roughly a year ago came many new and exciting changes, resulting in the b.net we have today. One of these changes, however, was the loss of pinned topics.
I have an idea about pinned topics, and felt this would be the most appropriate place to put it. This idea follows a similar vein to another user's thread a few weeks ago regarding the idea of locked topics (I'm using the mobile app right now, so I'll provide the link later). Essentially, using the #pinned tag available exclusively to the web team and ninjas, topics of importance can be kept in a place on the site where they can be easily accessed. I thought such places could be either within the tag itself above the other topics in a similar manner to b.old, with a header of some sort denoting that they are pinned topics, or given their own category within the tag where the user selects the order by which the threads appear (Trending, Latest, etc.).
This, in my opinion, could help alleviate some of the repeated topics found within the forums. For example, there are a number of threads in Support dealing with the linking and unlinking of accounts. In this instance, we could pin NIS' thread regarding this matter, so it is kept in a place of easy access for easy review.
This is just an idea, and I would appreciate any input.

Pinned topics aren't bad... But they do tend to clutter up the forums... What might also alleviate some repeated topics is changing the subject into a search box. So if you start typing the subject "how do I unlink my account?", or "where's my beta code?", it will present existing threads that might be related.
