I don't disagree with what you are saying, however, I do feel like this event is solely based upon new gear... the title is avant-garde, so it does seem fitting to have avant-garde type mods on everything. It's perhaps unfortunate timing at this point, an all out/anything goes event might have been a better idea.... jump in on fun mode, like no exotic restrictions,. Pve mayhem modes or something else that is just fun and doesn't mean too much.

Cutting edge has helped kill pvp for me. I used to play Rumble to warm up, wind down, or test weapons and builds in general. Now the only game mode I can play is Comp, Control, and Trials (when it's available), since there is no non-cutting edge Rumble in the Portal :(. Also, what happened to private matches? I used to be able to find quick 1v1s or even 2v2s or 3s. It's almost like because private matches are kind of tucked away in World > Crucible > Private match people don't post anymore and also when I make a post no-one ever joins it. I have pretty much resorted to Trials being the only place I can test a build while not under SBMM.

I got 8k in scare and it will not update. Still says I only got 5k from that abysmal match I played earlier…

As someone who enjoys pvp trials etc this mode is a -blam!- disgrace there’s only a few viable guns in rotation so be prepared to face outbreak forgiveness and last Thursdays game after game let people use whatever they want it wouldn’t be nearly as bad

I also wish they'd just stop putting any objective-focused modes intot he FOMO events; gotta love the only playlist being f***ing Zone Control (not regular Control; the 'zones are the only source of points' version), and getting a game wherre your opponents rotate in groups, but 4+ of your team sit in the back of one Zone, not moving, not capping, just wasting time. And it's a piss take that we're getting scored off this, so unless you can literally 1v6 on obj-gameplay, you're gonna get f*** all progress in the FOMO event for it. And that's not even mentioning the horrible lag caused by having to scrape together players literally continents apart to get a full match (I, in the UK, in prime post-work-pre-bed hours, am getting matched with people in East Asia.....), and the cheaters that BattlEye still fails to catch, even though Marathon is gonna require that to be the deity of anticheats to ever have even the piddling chance at life it still has.....

Yeah it's pretty bad. I needed the statis and arc challenges for the pile of bright dust but as someone who hates PvP I just wanted to play as little as possible of it. That's when they throw in an avant-garde event - and I have no new arc or stasis weapons I'm comfortable with in PvP. I was not a happy camper and my k/d took a major hit :) Pretty funny that I even care abiout k/d when I hate PvP, dont play it enough to know the maps and my in-game name is hidden.
