Nothing like visiting Mars, Venus, Mercury, Titan, asteroid belt, and others without the open world components. Parts still exist in vanguard, crucible, dungeons and other locations. The excuse in past for vaulting large areas was to reduce download size. Secondary excuse was to tie it to yearly updates. Not really buying the excuses. Not seeing any benefit by current vaulting and sunset practices.
