Do exo guardians count their death?

do Exo guardians count dying and being rezed as a reset? if they do does that mean the lowest you can be is -2? How do they know how many times they were rebooted before they died?

  • To my knowledge, Exo resets and Guardian resurrections do not function the same. Whatever number Exos have when they were revived is the last number they had before their first death.

  • If Exos increased the number in their name after each time they had to be revived, my Guardian would called Hunter-5698995 by now.

  • The exos have coding wired on there heads some of which ghost can’t erase upon resurrection. This includes their name and an exos reboot number is part of their name. Upon being rezzed, they add a number. For instance Cayde 6 was Cayde 5 when he died during the collapse and only became Cayde 6 after being revived by his ghost.

    • Your first 2 questions have already been answered, so let me answer the last: all Exos are programmed to remember their name and reset number. So when Exo guardians are rezzed for the first time, that's the only thing they know about themselves!

    • No. Resets are more involved, they alter the Exos mind. The initial revival erases memories, an affect by the Traveler. A part of the Wager between the Gardner and Winnower. The latter revivals from dying do not alter you in anyway.

    • No being reset means losing basically all their memories, being revived is just that being revived
