Proposal buff:
While ADS Cranial Spike will stack on precision hits and do more damage over time plus increasing aim assist, up to 5x stacks.
While hip-fire Cranial Spike will stack on precision hits and increase hip-fire speed with severely reduced aim assist.
The goal is to make Dead Man's Tale provide the best of both worlds in ADS and hip-fire.

So, revert the damage loss in PVP with ADS, and make hip fire even more unreliable? You're not hitting anything while hip firing unless the dead center of the reticle is on the target, which with reduced AA will become even harder when taking into account the already reduced AA/ near-to-non-existent bullet magnetism hip firing anything besides Last Word suffers on top of the reduced range, stability, and increased incoming flinch because you're hip firing. And ADS will basically just be reverted with an addition to AA. No. What needs to happen is to keep the current buffs and for CS to increase ROF by varying levels. +5 for ADS, +10 for hip fire (capping at 150 in ADS, 180 hip). At 5 stacks, hip fire should be comparable to Last Word and it needs to lose the 20% damage reduction. If CS shouldn't increase damage, the catalyst shouldn't remove any. Alternatively, keep the current buffs again, but increase ROF for 5 shots or a set duration after landing 5 crits in a row without reloading, and allow it to refresh after 5 hip fire crits. That way, it would require basically 2 kills in PVP, but they can be spaced apart.

Absolutely not. Pre-Nerf DMT was quite literally the most braindead, broken, and Oppressive gun in the history of Destiny. The Hipfire on controller was 10x worse than LW on MnK.

It had its time. Now it goes in the closet.

It’s already solid in in pve, in pvp no thanks, it was outright busted and more OP on PC than last word on console, if anyone says otherwise they’re full of -blam!-.
-
Yeah it's trash now. A shame because I love the look and sound of the weapon.

It was the one gun m and k had…. They ain’t buffing it ever…. -
I still use it to great effect. Don’t think it is useless at all personally.
-
No, it's the easiest gun to use it the game. The aim assist alone makes it feel like you can shoot round corners.

Edited by Wynd: 9/28/2022 3:29:07 PMWon't happen sadly. It's not broken on controller so it's not allowed to be good. Last word has been more oppressive for years and was barely nerfed once and in a much much shorter period of time dmt was nerfed multiple times. If anyone even remotely wants to debate this I'll say look at trials report. Ntte has way higher usage than dmt ever did, provides 2 taps with no setup required and isn't touched simply because it's oppressive on controller. Yet dmt being used on a few maps and providing 2 taps after landing multiple precision was unacceptable since controller players couldn't aim bot people across the map with hipfire.

Nah this gun can stay the way it is or get removed. Coming back to this game right as it was released made me physically ill. The gun is just a big ol mistake from bungie
-
They literally just nerfed it. They're not going to 180 and buff it.
-
so how much drugs did you take before this post? just curious.

Dead man’s tale was broken af for almost a year. We can wait to buff it for awhile.
