for the love of god, get a dedicated server

the connection issues on both pvp and pve is getting out of control, how are you even gonna prepare lightfall with this??? And also, don't tell us that it's gonna be impossible. Back then when battle net was a thing there were literally 0 connection issues even with 30hz server mixed with sphagetti code.

  • Sony has Server Farms in Stasis all around the world ready to go. There is one near my Town in Australia. Bunjie just need to ask.

  •
for the love of god, get a dedicated server
3 things here that you should keep in mind as to why this will never happen. 1, Luke Smith said they will never do that. 2, Bungie doesn't want to use their resources on that. 3, Destiny 2 is on its way to being dropped in a couple of years just like D1 was when D2 was released. This is why you will never see dedicated servers in D2, and you guys need to accept that the outdated P2P is here until the end of D2 life span.

    • They did some engine re-writes for season 19, but I doubt it was to the extent that they changed their networking. When they made Tiger from Blam!, leaving the networking as is was one of the worst choices they made. At the time they made the choice, I don't think they had any intent of PvP being anything more than a sideshow.

    • You can give them all the money in the world and they won’t do it. It sucks but it is what it is at this point.

    • I’m pretty sure Bungie said the Engine can’t support Dedicated Servers. They use a proprietary engine called Tiger Engine. It’s 20+ years old because it built on the same Engine that Halo 1 through Reach used

      • Destiny 2 is little more than a reskinned Destiny 1 engine. They would actually have to make a new game for that, and that's not happening when Eververse is a thing.

      • Dedicated servers would be nice. However, at this point it is not a possibility. It would require a complete rewrite of the code. It would completely change the way the game is structured. Better get locked in to disappointment going forward. Bungie is fully committed to their current system through the remaining lifespan of Destiny.
